Day One: The Attack | Part Two

The group of men was hovering around the battle table, which was a table with a computer screen on it, showing the placement of every friendly unit and several spotted enemy units. Bogdan raised himself from his position and turned to face me.
"Glad you could make it here in one piece." He said almost jokingly.
He then proceeded in a sobering and serious tone: "They overran our outer Northern Island defensive line on the initial assault, companies Brovo One and Foxtrot Four took some losses and have fallen back to within range of friendly artillery." he drew a breath and continued "Kuala Lumpur cut off all contact with us at the onset and we suspect the Indonesians are supporting the Malaysian forces."

Suddenly a tall man with a thick Romanian accent who introduced himself as General Petru burst in:
"My men are still organizing but will be ready for combat soon, your troops will have to hold off on their own until my units can take up positions around the city."

"Aye sir!" I jolted at Bogdan and nodded my head at General Petru. I walked over to the battle screen to get an overview of the situation. The first thing I noticed was that the Malaysians had been able to capture the Causeway. I pulled up the video feed, it showed amour and men moving across taking only scattered small arms fire. I quickly pulled up the feed for the Second Link and luckily the bridge had been destroyed and our troops seemed to have a strong defensive line in place.

I knew something had to be done about the Causeway. Quickly I tapped on one of the air units on screen and was tuned into it's radio frequency.
"This is Minister of Defense Dunleavy to call-sign ARB-23e how copy, over."
"This is ARB-23e I hear you loud and clear sir" replied the voice of a man who could not have been older than 19. I responde😛
"I need a AGM-86 ALCM strike on grid location Alpha One Charlie Whiskey, copy?"
"Rodger, missile inbound eta 45 seconds" replied the pilot.

I pulled up the Causeway feed once more observe the impact. 45 seconds later and a massive fireball engulfed the Singapore side of the bridge, knocking tanks, ACPs, LAVs and Malaysian Infantry into the water, most not to be seen again. Just as I began to look up from the table, and a bit ironically, I was knocked to the ground by a strong shaking and rumbling..
