Day 1 in Congress: No Unification. . .

Day 645, 15:43 Published in USA USA by GoBucks

=============================😛ersonal Message==============================

I must say, I was quite surprised when I first signed on this morning. I did not expect it to make it into Congress when I signed off last night. The fact that I did after trailing the leaders all day is quite remarkable. To this, I owe thanks to several. First, Zcia and Cerb for their excellent organization and preparation of ads and an article. Thanks also goes to Ligtreb for recommending that I move to Florida and for his successful running of the USWP PAC. Lastly, I owe my biggest thanks to Jasper Ferguson and Josh Frost as they helped to convince several to vote for me in the last moment of the election.

I also owe a huge apology to the marines. When I joined a while ago I was not quite aware that by running for political office I instantly sacrificed my position in the Marines. Mid-day my excellent CO, Morclye, PMed me on IRC to inform me that after discussion he and the CO's of the Marines decided not to discharge me. I told him I was not confident that I would win and was unsure of my future. However, today upon winning it is clear that I will not be able to maintain my marine status. I must apologize to the marines and specifically, Morclye, for causing such a hassle yesterday. For these reasons, I will be donating 5 gold to the Marines in honor of Morclye.

=================================Main Article=================================

In my vision for Congress I spoke of much unity and my main campaign was, United We Stand, Divided We Fall. I am very upset to say that already unity has been broken amongst the ranks of Congress. A great debate is currently ensuing on the topic of, "Should the Maine Congressmen Be Allowed In?". Though they may have been elected as Congressmen, it appears that the admins are not fixing this issue, from what I can say this is a recurring issue and it happened in the last elections. The admins decision may come today, tomorrow but what is definite is that we are all uncertain what that decision will be. Until then it is my express opinion that Congressmen elected by the glitch should be granted access into the Halls of Congress on the eUS Forums. My reasoning is simple, the 23 individuals who were not voted on, still carry the power of the 11 individuals that were. They can still vote and I am sure they are still willing to represent our people. The fact that they can vote but can not discuss their vote nor be educated on it, as the rest of Congress is can be disastrous for our nation. Long time members of the eUS know very well what happens when Congressmen don't check the forums and vote blindly.

Now, opposition to me in this debate cite that we should wait for the admins. That could be detrimental to the effectiveness of Congress. The longer we wait, the more time that will be wasted in the long run in debating this topic and in integrating the new members of Congress into the full scope of things and then if the admins make their decision then we can move forward and remove the Maine Congressmen who will at that point have no power of voting in game.

I hope you understand my argument and wish that you will join me in supporting a Unified Congress, because without that how can we have a Unified Nation?
