Being president is not easy. He must be experienced in all areas of the game in order to make the right decision whatever the choice is about. The president doesn't have to be an expert on everything, but some knowledge is mandatory. A president must also have the time and dedication to do his job in the best way possible. In this article I want to convince you that I've got all that, and a little extra.

Experience

I would like to say that I have two and a half areas of expertise; military, economics and Version 2 (V2 is only counted as a half since the information about it is limited). And I feel that these are exactly the areas our next president must have knowledge about.

Military because our geographical position puts us in a difficult spot, partly because we border Brazil and Argentina and partly because we hold diamond-regions, soon to be titanium-regions. Economics is important simply because without economic growth we can't develop our country or military. And V2 because the way we act the following month(s) will determine how well the introduction of V2 will treat us, if we are ready or not.

Military - During all of my eLife, the military aspect has been the single most important aspect of the game. I've served as a Private in the Swedish military and in the US military branch called Airborne (one of the finest military branches in the New World). I have also served as a Private, Captain and Major in our own national guard, PG, and as Colonel of our mobile branch, PB. I have attended several tactical meetings and would consider myself knowledgeable about game mechanics.

Economics - Even though it has been a subplot of my eLife, I've always been interested in economics and have spent a lot of time improving my economic skills in different ways. I have run high-quality companies for soon 1 whole year and I'm currently the CEO of one of the best paying organizations on ERX. Thanks to this I feel that I have great skills in reading the market and seeing how it will be affected by different reforms.

Version 2 - Except reading all the eRepublik Insiders about V2 multiple times I've also read a lot of articles by citizens with speculations about the changes and spent a lot of time trying to analyze what will be the most efficient ways to take advantage of the changes and handle the possible difficulties that will occur. I have published a series of articles called V2-preparations, where I present my thoughts about the subject.

Two other areas I also have experience in, which are important for a president, are congress and cabinet. Both of these are important to make sure the government is running smoothly. The president must share a mutual respect with the congress to pass new legislation and he must also be able to work efficiently with the cabinet to produce ideas and solutions which will help the country.

Congress & Cabinet - I have spent three terms in congress, during this time I understood how much power congress actually has, which is why they must not be left out of the decision-process. During my second month in South Africa I served as the Director of Activity (a department which has now been removed), where I worked to bring new soldier to SAAF, make sure they were well-supplied and in other ways make sure they could function as well as possible. Right now I'm serving as Minister of Defense, where I make sure our population fights in important battle, make sure that our country is not in danger, form and maintain good relationship with foreign military leader and keep our CoS informed on where our armed forces are needed.

Current occupations:
-> Colonel of the Parabats (Since the 22nd of April)
-> Minister of Defense (Since the 6th of May)
-> CEO of VTI (Since the 7th of April)

Former occupations:
-> Private of the Swedish military (20th of May to 24th of June -09)
-> Private of the US Airborne (5th of July to 25th of November -09)
-> Major of the Pretorian Guard (January to 22nd of April)
-> Director of Activity (6th of December -09 to 6th of January)
-> Congressman of Free State (26th of December -09 to 26th of February)
-> Congressman of Limpopo (26th of February to 7th of March)

Time & dedication

The list above shows my dedication to this game and especially to South Africa. For more than six months I have played this game with one purpose; improving South Africa. I have offered my services to her in many different aspects and I've always done my absolute best in order to succeed. I have sacrificed time and wealth to make South Africa the best she can be, a goal I wish to keep pushing for by being your president.

From the list above you can also see that I currently have a lot on my hands, which might make some think that I don't have the time to be president, but that's incorrect. The positions of Col. of PB and MoD will be filled with replacements and bear in mind that I've been in the middle of my finals the last month. Being able to perform the tasks that come with these positions during such a stressful time, without sacrificing my grades, just imagine what I can do when school is over (next week).
