How was he granted citizenship by mistake? Are those in the government sleep-walking or simply not paying attention? Being on trial for high treason, he should be barred from directly participating in any political activities.

As one of the Supreme Court Justices, I'd like to take a moment to clarify some matters and play devil's advocate.

1) Cesar Augustus is not on trial for high treason, nor any charges, nor has there been any formal charges laid against him. the current status of Cesar's "trial" is described by Vincent Valentine, the Chief Justice:
"Until either a new thread is created by William Duncan specifically dealing with a constitutional issue, or a thread is created by the Government officially charging Cesar Augustus, this issue is to remain closed and locked due to lack of any formal charges."

2) While it may be said that Cesar was given citizenship accidentally by a congressman who did not consult with CSIS, there is no clause in the Constitution stating that citizenship can only be granted after approval by CSIS. Cesar's citizenship may have been given hastily but it was not given illegally.

3) Citizens of eCanada have the freedom to vote and participate in any election if they obtain permission by legal means. Since it is very easy to run for Party President, all Cesar needed to do was join a party and pay 2 Gold to apply.

That's why I proposed adding that CSIS approval is a requirement for citizenship granting in the Citizenship amendment! But nobody listens! I also wanted separation between forum and eRepublik citizenship, because he nearly got admin access again! Again, no one listens.

A PP Congressman could also easily use all their citizenship passes for PTO candidates, and run them all in the Congressional elections.

The "government" doesn't control citizenship. Citizenship is granted by individual members of Congress. Cesar Augustus cornered an inexperienced member of Congress in IRC and got him to grant citizenship.

The laws are being improved to control access to the forum. You'll understand that the Hungarian PTO in July and the war in July and August were a tremendous distraction that put a lot of priorities ahead of creating a criminal code. However, the government can't control anything people do in-game. Ultimately it is the responsibility of citizens to work together to ensure the security of our parties, government, and country.

How do you elect people in this country ? Apparently i asked for citizenship for more than a RL month and not even bothered with a refusal. So that shows how much u take ur roles seriously. Second you are being elected among the unexperienced ones ?
