CP Update: The Theft, the UK, and Our Place in This World

Citizens of Ireland,

There are a number of items I have to discuss with you in order to keep you all informed and ready to act. I have done my best to keep the citizens as well informed as possible and I promise to continue for as long as I am president.

The Theft

I regret to inform you that we will likely not be getting the money that was stolen from our treasury back. The Admins have told me that it was a breakdown in the security of the last administration. The passwords should not have been distributed like they were. Before we are too hard on Bean&Teddy, remember that it isn't a terrible thing to believe that people will put Ireland before their own greed. The theft is a tragedy that hurts every last citizen, but let us not turn on each other. Let's put our wrath as a nation where it is likely due.

The admins won't give me a name as to who stole the money, but they haven't denied that it was sawc when I asked directly. Not only did they not deny it, but after I said his name, they began referring to the thief as "he" and "him" and said that he was a part of the last government.

Most signs point to sawc. It is truly a sad time for Ireland to be betrayed by someone who received a second chance from us. I guess some people never change.

The UK

Since I took office, there have been a few complications with the UK. One such complication is that we haven't been able to retrieve our regions back even though the UK has decided to end the agreed upon region swap. This is not due to an incompetence within my administration. Talon, the president of the UK, has not been forceful with his allies in having them respect the agreement between our two nations. Not only that, but he has absolutely no control over his citizens either. For the first several days of the term, he and Kravenn were telling me different information at the same time. Nearly every time I tried to get info, I would something different. Not only that, but Kravenn spoke as if I was a complete fool.

Anyway, at their request and growing agitation, I have requested to end the Natural Enemy between our nations. The UK ended theirs with the expectation that we end ours as well. The last two proposals failed, but this one looks somewhat promising. Hopefully we can avoid saber-rattling and threats of war and get our regions back in a somewhat civilized manner. This will take the cooperation of our allies as well as the UK and their allies. Fight with all of your heart. When we get Mayo and Wexford back, we can achieve peace.

Alliances

Our new alliances are Romania, the USA, and Russia! With their help, we should be able to secure our regions back and hold our heads high. We will also be resigning our alliances with all of our EDEN brethren to help strengthen our bonds.

EDEN

The conflict of the UK will be something that we will have to work out on our own since it is considered a training war. When asked for help, EDEN officials said that we would never be a priority in the UK conflict since we knew the risks when we got involved with the war.

This information makes the new alliances with the USA, Romania, and Russia a heck of a lot better, since they can help when we are sleeping.

Our Military

One very important aspect of this game is the military module. That being said, this game involves a devastatingly high amount of armed conflict... Which is something Ireland is good at, but could be a lot better at. One of my priorities this term is to rework the military system to make it devastatingly effective. New Faustian Man and Thanatos as well as many others have been working tirelessly to determine what needs to be done and how to go about making us a nation to be reckoned with. I will have more updates as they become available.

Our Orgs

I have great news concerning our orgs. I would say that 97% of our orgs have been recovered and returned to their rightful places. The emails have been changed, passwords have been reset, and a great deal more care has been put into securing them. Now the citizens of Ireland can know that when an article is put out under the DoD or the MoFA, it is legitimate.

The Future

I would like to see Ireland step up as a nation and work together to be a powerful change in the world. To do this, we have to accept great citizens into our nation. That means that our immigration needs to be worked to accept only the best. We need to be recruiting our friends, classmates, neighbors, girlfriends, boyfriends, parents, and grandparents to play. Anyone who will be dedicated to Ireland and help it become a better and more powerful nation.

We have to improve our relations with other countries as well. We have to secure alliances with those who can help us become a voice in the world. That is why I have two MoFA. Ethel and Biker2446. A lot of people have shown concern with Biker, but trust me on him. He has only been here a few months, but he is dedicated to Ireland and always on the prowl to find countries willing to help.

Lastly, we have to rework our military so that it is leaner and meaner. Once we rework it, we will see a vast improvement in our ability to do damage and show our opponents who is boss.
