CP Update - The State of the Nation

Hello Everyone,

Firstly, I want thank all who voted for me and stuck by me through all the adversity of this election time. I ask that whatever was said over the last few days from both sides can now be left in the past. The problems which this country face are so extreme that we have to stick together. We cannot afford to be fighting our enemies and our fellow Irishmen too.


Ireland is a small country, now with no money and depleted government assets. The admins enforced a change which now means that any country attacking another, can make use of all it’s allies in each battle. Therefore the countries which can afford the most pacts will nearly always win the battle. The admins also reduced the cost of war, this will prove beneficial to all of us in the long run, but right now it just means that the eUK has a little bit less holding it back if it wishes to invade further.
The recent change in the battle system from PvP to something very similar to the wall system in v1 also favours the largest countries and their greater population sizes. So I’m painting a grim picture for Ireland’s future, but this is the way it is and this is why we must join and face this mammoth task head on together.



The Bank Theft
The Banc Ceannais was stolen yesterday and ended up with two British trolls, Maddog + Tomazim.

I’ve been informed that before the Bank was robbed there was a total of 300gold and >52,000iep in it’s account. There is now pretty much nothing left. There is also no conclusive evidence to say exactly what happened, all the security measures had been completed by the last administration. Still somehow for the third month in a row, Ireland has fallen victim to some kind of loss at the hand of it’s own citizens.
I read Dubh’s article + Glenn Wauters Dail post and I entirely agree that if we’re to ever stop this from happening again then we will have to do a number of things. I think the first is make someone accountable, make it entirely one persons responsibility. This way we can ensure that if something is taken that there can only be one possibility. This person also needs to be active enough to be able to distribute funds out as needed and of course needs to be honest. A record should also be kept of all funds going in and going out of the org.
So it just remains to be seen who we could get to do that, but it’s something that will be implemented asap and will at the very least get rid of these grand anonymous thefts which keep on occurring.



Future Super Nations, Ireland under threat
Game changes have made it much more difficult for small countries recently and this trend would seem as though it’s destined to continue. Today another change which seems to encourage more “super nations” is the new system for hospitals.

This basically says that there will no longer be any more hospitals which benefit just the defender. So now everyone will get to heal up 100 points in each battle for free every 2 hour battle. This is going to bring about huge changes within each army in erepublik and there’s going to have to be a serious amount of re-evaluation of how armies are supplied.
Along with all the other obstacles which were outlined earlier in this article, the game is certainly changing to favour the creation of super nations.



Wounded Soldiers
Today all our citizens are dying. Every newish players account that I log onto, their health is below 20 or very close to it. The short term solution is from the health ministry and that’s what’s being sorted out right now. The long term solution is education to ensure that our citizens fight within their means. It is drastically important that we defend our land as well as we possibly can, but with the newest game changes to food, it has become more expensive to heal and we all need to ensure that while we fight as hard as we can, that we can still work and train the next day at good level.

As I’m sure you’re all aware, Dublin was conquered by the Brits and their allies yesterday. Getting Dublin back is going to be a struggle, especially with all the other problems we have walked into. However, we will get an opportunity and we will retake it. All the odds stacked against us , we will fight and persevere because that is precisely what the Irish do. Our allies in Eden have seen our problems and have outstretched a hand of friendship and support. We will overcome this invasion, but first we must overcome the robbery and do our best to get our country and our Army running again.

Ireland is in dire straits, but will rise again. Working with our allies in Eden, being organised and creative enough with our battle times. Dublin will once again be Irish.
