Day 1,158, 11:40 Published in Ireland Ireland by King Connell

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while, but after visiting the irc a couple of times and reading the news over the past few weeks, I realised that I should have released an article a long time ago... and no it's not a CP update 😃

It is in fact a bit of a hello, goodbye and a cheers for everything kind of article, but mainly it’s an explanation because there’s no escaping the fact that I let some people which I care about down.

I have no idea if it was ever printed or how many people know this, but the day after I wrote my last article as CP of Ireland, a friend of mine was mowed down and killed in a hit and run car accident.

It is a truly inexplicable experience, something completely different. But one thing was for sure and that was that the already wavering passion I had for this game eroded once I saw the “RIP” messages being sent to this very special girl’s facebook page.

It would have been Kelly's 21st just a few days ago and there is still an element of surrealism about the situation. I’m not going to go into anymore detail regarding that because I don’t think that kind of discussion has a place in this game.

But that is why I left 4 months ago...

My pride and joy, Eire Aontaithe is sadly no more since eIreland got wiped, I semi-famously once said that, “The day that Eire Aontaithe stops will be the day that I quit erepublik”. When I said it, I really meant it!
There were some great times had with EA, the great people within it and if any of ye are reading this, cheers for the good times and sorry, because for most this is the first you’ve heard from me in quite some time. I hope you are all well o7

Current government
To see this government getting rid of the IDF and creating a new Irish Army which is not politically involved is truly fantastic and a clear indication that there is real will in this government for progression. All that I’ve seen from the irc channel and articles printed tells me that this government also has the means behind that will to achieve.

In such a short period of time Ireland has made huge strides forward, I hope that people will give this government the time that is needed and we will see a new successful Ireland in the future.

Cheers for reading.
