Congressional Update - 1/6/2013

Good Day eCanada,

I am submitting for your review, my second week of activity in Congress. I apologize for the delay. I had technical difficulties.

Propose MPP With India -- Voted NO

With our limited resources, and no clear direction from the CP about this proposal, I voted NO. There is little to no reason for us to have an MPP with India. They do not actively involve themselves in a great deal of conflict, they have little to offer us in return, and there is no motivating reason to support this MPP. The discussion was further explored in CDC and I opted to vote down the MPP based on those discussions.

ITEMS OF DEBATE

In Open Door Congress, Homer J. Simpson was again elected as Speaker of The House and I voted yes to support.

Acacia Mason was named Deputy Speaker for the term

A vote was enacted to approve the MU reports for this period. I voted YES to approve them.

There is much discussion in Closed Door Congress that I am not able to detail here, but I am actively involved in those conversations and will provide more detail when/if the situation allows.

Lastly, the National Arts Archive was formally announced and approved. Funding will be handled through private donation to curb Government control of the project. A steering committee is being formed and will later turn into the roles of "Curator". At present, myself and Mary Chan are conducting the search for Steering Committee members. A portion of the eCan forums has been set aside for the Archives and we hope to see this project continue to develop into a source of both National and International historical value.
