Congress elections: important information
CreveRoeland
In this (small) article, I would like to explain (mostly for the new citizens among us) how the voting system works in the eUK.
How will the voting system work (ingame) ?
First of all, you need to have reached level 6 to be able to vote.
When you log in on 25 november, you will see a banner about the elections. If you click on it, you can cast your vote for a congress candidate in your region.
Every party in your region will have proposed a maximum of 2 candidates.
You will be able to vote on a maximum of 8 candidates if you live in the RealLife-UK:
2 candidates * 4 parties:
-UK Reform Party (UKRP)
-People's Communist Party (PCP)
-The Unity Party (TUP)
-LT-United (LT-U)
Note: the LT-U will have just a small number of congress candidates. You will probably need to choose among 6 candidates.
If you live in eBelgium (Flemish, Brussels and Walloon Region) you will be able to choose between 2 candidates of the United Belgian Party (UBP).
There wil be 2 directly elected congressmen per region. But 10 candidates who were not elected will get a wildcard, based on the number of votes they received.
You will, however, not be able to vote (ingame) for a small party.
How to vote for a small party?
Recently, a new legislation was passed by cogress to give small parties some congres seats.
Read this article to learn how the system works.
The only way to support a small party is to become a member of that party. More members means more congres seats for a small party. These are the small parties:
-The Right Party (TRP)
-Movement for Democratic Unity (MDU)
-The Libertarian Party (TLP)
-We are the Borg (BORG)
-Free England party (FEP)
-Liberal Democratic Socialists (LDS)
-The Progressive Democrats (TPD)
-The Conservative Revolution (TCR)
Please note the following:
1) Only TRP and MDU were active in the HoC in the last month
2) At the moment, the division of the appointed congres seats will be 2 for TRP, 1 for MDU, 1 for TLP and 1 for BORG. However, a small increase or decrease in the number of members will influence this division of the seats.
3)If you are a member of a small party, you could still vote in game for a large party
If you think this article is useful for new members, you can vote for it 🙂
Comments
MDU and TRP also have candidates.
It's a bug. We will not be able to vote on those candidates
Very interesting.
Do the right thing for democracy people and come and join the Movement for Democratic Unity! All members are treated equally, new or experienced, British or foreign-born. Contact CV James for more information.
I know these were terms of the Belgian Union but it seems rather dictatorial that no else but the UBP can run in Belgium, what if a Belgian doesn't support either of the UBP candidates in their region?
Join the MDU! Get involved!
Well, John, the Belgians have their own forums where they hold Primary Elections for candidates, so they still make a choice, which is not dictatorial.
Fair enough.
Im not so sure that is a bug.

vote for mr ejpyne
? slightly confusing sorry, new to the game (8 days), not been told an awful lot about anything!
Why is it only level 6 and above can vote?
What about universal suffrage? I feel left out 🙁
I think it's to try and prevent, or atleast hinder multi-accounting.
Also, universal suffrage does not include people below voting age. Our 'age' is level 6.
Good article, nice to see you guys becoming a bit more vocal in the UK 🙂
