Congratulations and Salutations

Day 1,112, 09:03 Published in Ireland Ireland by James Ferrin

I wanted to write today to congratulate John Gormley on his successful Presidential run against me. I also wanted to write my appreciation for the large amount of people voting for me, and the amazing voter turnout we've had.

Not since the eve of version 2.0 of eRep have we had such a high voter turnout, and I think it speaks very loudly. There is a new dawn rising on Ireland, but she has yet to go through all of her trials.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to announce my resignation as a Commander in the ICA, and to announce that I will be moving to the US and joining SEAL Team 6. It's a long time coming, and I realize that I need to take a breather from Ireland and explore the wider world. I will always be in IRC channels like #eICA and #ireland, so no need to worry those of you who are my good friends.

I promise that I will be back one day and maybe I'll run for President again. One thing is for sure, however, and that is that I will miss the Irish Citizen Army dearly, and I look forward to working with them as a member of ST6 as often as possible, and as often as is necessary.

There is great confusion about in regards to the recent invasion and what Ireland is to do with the UK, and I encourage you all to not buy into the perks that come with the end of war between the Irish and the English. When the time is right London will fall, and it will be the greatest victory in all of eRepublik history.

Goodbye my friends and some who are not, I'll see you on the other side.

This is an old grizzly ICA Commander, signing off for the last time.

"Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing we had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely 'round the Fields of Athenry."
