Condolences from Bosnia

Dear citizens of Japan,

the Chinese had a curse: “May you live in interesting times”, and well, I feel cursed with it, for I have grown in Bosnia during a terrible war and these days I am watching reports of the uprisings in the Arabian world, the floods in Australia and the earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan.

Being a victim of one of the greatest disasters in the last 20 years myself it is hard to just watch as Japan is in pain, for Japan is a great nation that has helped mine in our time of need. Japan, you are a friend.

Dear Japanese friends, in the name of my country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, I wish you a fast recovery and offer our sympathy, for we, the Bosnians, know pretty damn good what it’s like when disaster strikes your country.

I hope we start living in the boring times pretty soon.
