CLN Presidential Candidate: NoTie112
Pierre Delvaux
I cannot forsake my principles
When the late Jack Ritell, the founding father of CLN, surveyed the eNL political landscape, he found little to admire. What spread out before him was a sorry vista of graft, power abuse, and politico-administrative inertia, orchestrated by the unhidden hand of an arrogant, disconnected Elite. Of course, he was not alone in making such an observation. Where he differed from so many others, where his greatness lay, was in his idealistic refusal to silently accept such a situation.
He chose to put his considerable, ethically gained resources, towards the creation of a new party, one which would adopt a progressivist line and fight for probity in public life: he called it CLN, and it cast a gaze of righteous brightness that was impossible to ignore. When he chose to depart the eWorld, he entrusted its stewardship to me; a responsibility I take seriously.
My endeavors to grow the party and make it a respected presence step up a level today with the nomination of Tonie112 as our candidate for Country President. Tonie is one of the new breed of CLN members; experienced citizens who recognise that the old parties are no longer fit for purpose, and that only the fresh and incorruptible CLN can provide the platform for meaningful improvement. Tonie's record as a government minister and party president are beyond reproach, and his policy platform proposes a clear path towards streamlined governance and the revitalisation of public discourse.
We recommend him to the electorate without hesitation.
Sincerely,
Congressman Pierre Delvaux
Party President of CLN

Not voted. When I reached the 'righteous brightness' part, I kind of died! :') Normally, I like your articles, but this one is, on the whole, many steps out of line. Besides, Tonie will be the first to acknowledge that his PPship was anything but beyond reproach. It was not his fault, but you cannot claim something that is not true, especially not when your raising yourself to this moral high ground. These things, in my opinion, turn your eloquently phrased article into empty rhetoric.
As if DemNL was my first and only expierence as PP 🙂
Still, stating that your party presidential record is beyond reproach is stretching the truth a little 😁
"that the old parties are no longer fit for purpose, "
That's why you candidate says (on 2 ministeries):
"Continuity is not always bad!"
Second, a CLN candidate that want nothing to change on finances... is this a joke or what?
How can a Left-candidate agree with this huge spending on right hobbies?
@Hindrik and broersje: It's an old style political endorsement, which means it's supposed to read like empty rhetoric🙂!
@artem: CLN is not a 'leftist' party in the McCarthyist eNL sense of the term.
I'm trying to build a broad church progressive movement, in which there's a diversity of views. Tonie wouldn't describe himself as a leftist, and that's fine by me. I'm nominating him because I have faith in his integrity, and respect his desire to create a more open and accountable system.
@ Pierre: Agreed, that's sort of a viable excuse, but for the untruths. By the way, being a RL progressive voter, I can assure you that the 'McCarthyist eNL sense of the term' is only found in a small minority of people from a certain party. You know what I'm talking about.
@Artem, your candidate doesn't mention finances at all!
quite telling that an obituary article starts and ends with a picture of yourself, rather than one of the person you are remembring.
It's not an obituary DP; you need to read with your eyes rather than your ideology🙂
"and incorruptible CLN"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!
I rarely lough at anything Pierre writes, but this one got me going 😁
For the rest your typical pedantic Pierre-rant against some so-called elite. Just one question, though:
"and his policy platform proposes a clear path towards streamlined governance and the revitalisation of public discourse."
How?
the first part (with Pierre´s picture above it) is an obituary/Homage to Jack Rittel, and the second part (which is again endorsed by Pierre's pretty face in the bottom) is about Tonnie being CLN´s candidate. It´s a matter of taste of course, but maybe Jack and Tonnie´s pictures would have been more illustrative?
The photos are intended to be a funny commentary on my egomaniacal eRep persona🙂
