Will we meet Poland in the near future?
For now, Poland has managed to occupy 3 regions in France. The latter started a Resistance War in one of them and finished already because Poland made a Peace Proposal to France. It’ll probably pass. Why Poland stopped the war on this moment is not clear. These regions have no strategic advances since they don’t border to multiple countries. What will happen next? Is Poland going to keep the 3 French regions, containing grain and rubber? We can assume Poland will at least keep 2 regions. That’s a big relieve for Belgium. They don’t need Wallonia as a passage anymore. Is the threat completely gone? As long as Belgian diplomats manage to maintain a good relationship with Poland, there’s no need to worry. Nevertheless Poland holds a strategic region, North Rhine-Westfalia, from which they can invade Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.

War with the Netherlands?
The past
The past 2 weeks The Netherlands have proposed Belgium as Neutral Enemy. Both times it didn’t pass. However as we look at the score the threat for a clash between the tricolor and the orange citizens stays. A small majority was both times in favor (14-11 and 19-16). One of the proposals was done by Tim Veltkamp, who has been 2 times CP. Until now, diplomatic conversations have tempered the tensions on both sides.

What will bring the future?
One of the goals of the new CP of Belgium, Sammy Tanghe, is to maintain peaceful relations with our neighbors. Also the new CP of The Netherlands, Antiko, says he’s in favor of a peaceful pact with Belgium. However if the majority decides to start a war against Belgium, Antiko will agree with the decision, he says in his newspaper.

For now we can conclude there’s no immediate hostility between Belgium and the Netherlands. The next Congress elections will tell us what the future brings.


National news


Minimum Wage will change?
A law proposal is progress to change the minimum wage from 1BEF to 5BEF. This is the second time the proposal was made due to not following the strict rules of Congress members on the first proposal. The 24hr debate period before the actual proposal was not respected. This led to some struggle among the Congress Members. Some wanted the voting to continue others said to vote not out of principle. What the outcome of the second voting will be is not clear yet. It’s still more than 12 hrs until the outcome.

A Vegan takes off
A Vegan decided to leave eRepublik. Tired of insults he didn’t want to go on in this struggle with TR. Since long there has been insulting from both sides. It never came to an appeasement between TR and A Vegan. Now a great authority takes off. Belgium will have to deal with this loss. Now it’s time for some introspection because the struggle between TR and A Vegan wasn’t worth the loss of the latter.
