Candidacy for Norsefire Party President

eCanada can be improved.

With this statement, I launch my bid for president of the Norsefire party. We are in great need of change, of improvement and of reform. I can promise that I will bring all of these to my party and, given the chance, Canada.

While I am fairly new to this game, over the past month I have risen through the party and served in a number of internal positions, helping the party draft its platform and communicate with members. In this time I have seen quite a few structural problems within the party itself and a number of reforms that Canada needs.

First I will discuss my plans for the party. Our forums have fallen into a state of neglect. They should be serving as a method of communication amongst all party members where new members can share their input and policy can be discussed. Instead, the forums have fallen into disuse. On the topic of improving communication between party members I also plan to compile lists of active party members, sort them by province and use this information to facilitate internal Get Out The Vote campaigns.

Additionally, the party has to keep in constant communication with its new players. As I was recently a new player myself, I know how daunting it can be to make your voice heard in a party as large as Norsefire. I will do my best to keep in contact with all new party members and give those with potential a place where they can shine. With Canada growing as fast as it is now, we must look outward to the new members of our party for new ideas and new leadership.

In terms of national plans, I want to bring reform to Canada. We live in a country that has been rapidly expanding and we must be ready to accommodate the problems that may arise in the future. We must foresee the problems that Canada will face and preempt them: look beyond the next month to make the changes that Canada truly needs. The prevailing logic of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” must die a quiet death while Canada moves forward.

Translated into actual policy, this means that I support forming a committee to investigate all parties for any signs of political corruption. While corruption is not occurring right now, we know that it will present itself at some point in the future and when it does rear its ugly head Canada must be ready to fight it back. The same goes for unethical business practices: we need a group of independent observers to keep an eye over the market and protect the consumers.

Besides that, I guarantee sound economic policies that strengthen Canada’s market and its dollar while not forcing taxation upon its people. I promise a strong foreign policy that greatens Canada’s respect in the world while gaining allies to ensure our security. I will propose measures that will ensure that all new player can find work in whatever field they want.

But that is all in the future and our platform must be written by the party as a whole, not just by the leader so it is premature to talk in specifics. For now, members of Norsefire must vote for their party leadership. On that note, I would like to point out that I am proud to be running against an opponent as strong as Banach. He has shown his worth time and time again both as a member of the press and as a politician and he would make a great leader, both of the party and of the country.

However, I am offering Norsefire another, newer choice and a way for Canada to be improved.
