Canadian Libertarian Party

Day 1,184, 11:25 Published in Canada Canada by Bruck
In support of individual liberty, the Canadian Libertarian Party seeks to supplant the tyranny of elitism with political and economic freedom.

The Canadian Libertarian Party sees the following as its chief duties, to adapt as new voices are heard and as the situation permits.

Absolute freedom of speech within the CLP
(Within the bounds set by eRepublik rules)
Within the CPL an environment of absolute freedom of speech shall exist where all opinions will be heard and debated. Should the argument prove right it shall be adopted, should it be proven wrong it shall strengthen the right argument, and if it shall be proven partially right it shall be incorporated into the whole right and become a part of our platform. This freedom applies to all members within the CLP and is something that we wish to extend to all of eCanada. It is only through such personal liberties that genius is allowed to develop.

It is through this intellectual freedom that we shall see a very adaptive party. If anything listed here, or beyond in the coming months, proves to be flawed or wholly wrong it shall be abandoned and a new, more correct proposal shall be issued. In this way the CLP will never be stuck with a dogmatic view of the eworld and will always be adapting to a changing environment.

Non-governmental interference in the economy.
The CLP proposes non-governmental interference in the markets. To this end, taxation must be maintained at its lowest levels. A 1% income tax will be established to allow more CAD to stay in the hands of the working class. The value added tax (VAT) shall be lowered to 1% as well to lower the cost of purchasing goods and combined with the higher purchasing power of the lower income tax will allow for greater ease of living for eCanadas working class citizens and the elite alike.

-It is important to note that import taxes will remain as they are, but this shall be discussed within the CLP.

Reformation of the eCanadian military system
Decentralization of the CAF
The CLP proposes decentralizing the CAF by adopting a more “militia” system for our nations militaries. At current we have a semi-autonomous CAF where the relationship between the government in power and the CAF generally exists as no more than one of campaign level direction (deciding what campaign/battle is the most important) and of subsidence (or money). The CAF does not need the government any more than TCO needs the government. What is proposed is that the CAF be split between its units (Tank, Air, ect) and each division established as a semi-autonomous force, with its own leaders, supply style, and personality.
This system allows many advantages.

-Within the absolute freedom of speech area which I mentioned before, each unit will have the ability to develop new methods of supply, work programs, battle orders, and leadership. From these new ideas some with be absolutely right, some will be absolutely wrong, and some will be partially right. We learn from these models and develop the most right system available.

-The decentralized system takes loads of work off of the current High Command and distributes it more evenly over currently mid ranking and lower ranking officers. Now everyone has an opportunity to be involved within their unit. New leaders will be given opportunities to advance and show what exactly they are capable of.

-The rivalry between groups, each completing for the newest recruits will bring a vast amount of interest towards new citizens, providing more incentive to stick with eRepublik. The rivalry will also become ever more present in the Canadian media, stirring activity within the population.

Command would function in the form of direction from an appointed MoD or from the President to the Division heads and officers through IRC and forum PM on the designated forums. Little would change from the current system as most fighters would likely be in a communal IRC chat for critical battles.

For those asking how funding would function, this would need to be revamped from the current model. For those units that choose to adopt the “slave pit” method of producing supplies communally an additional focus would be put on providing gold for quick ranking up and strength training. For those units that choose to remain with the supply system fewer funds would be provided as individuals should be expected to support themselves to the level that they see fit. This is ideal for the burgeoning business owner.

Government exists only to safeguard the people
To this end, the CLP proposes only a small group of Cabinet ministers, ideally chosen from elected Congressmen. The government shall only interfere into the realms of foreign relations, defense, and in maintaining a healthy business environment.

-Ministers shall encourage private initiatives and shall oversee these groups or programs. The distinguished or most successful groups can become the model for government policy. Later ministers, once this system is established, shall be chosen from the most successful of these programs to organize the adoption of the new model.
