Hi, I’m Cadfan, and this is my manifesto for Head of Congress! 😃

HoC is a respected position in congress which requires a lot of effort. I am prepared to put this effort in. I believe that with my articles that are always interesting and relevant, this stands me in good stead when presented with the challenge of writing a congress report. Finally, I have a lot I could offer to the job – competence and reliability above all.

This is my second time in congress. With the tutelage of Alector during my first month in this game, I have received a full and comprehensive introduction to eRepublik, which I feel I have an excellent understanding of, and am now ready to take it to the next stage. I am now ready to take some more responsibility and manage this congress, which contains a healthy mix of both new and experienced guys. If voted in, I will take full responsibility for congress, and aim to streamline the processes of this institution, with three particular areas to focus on.

1.Citizenship approvals
From my perspective, the citizenship system seems a little chaotic. People are expected to apply on forums, which I assume are dead as no-one ever told me of any forums when I first joined. Even then they are expected to alert a congressman after their application remains unseen. My proposal is to abandon forum system completely and institute an application form instead, to be given to any applicant who asks what procedure is.

2.Bitesize rules
To be honest, the rules seem lengthy, even if there are only three. As far as I have gathered, those rules are presented to congress every month – even I found it difficult to read them through completely. Think about others who will not bother reading them as they constitute a long paragraph. So I will instead use those as a basis to write the exact same, yet shorter and more concise, so more people will pay attention to what they say.

3.Activity
One other big issue is the activity of congress, which needs to be maintained for it to remain a respected institution. If I was elected as HoC I would try to encourage people to be more active on the IRC and set a good example to the younger congressmen – we must show the new guys in congress that congress is not just about the 5G, you must also serve the country by staying active. I would also like to promote debate within congress, There is nothing like an healthy debate to get a country going.

I will also be expecting all congress members to follow the rules to the letter, they are there for a reason and to help protect India. The citizenship rule is a critical rule as it prevents potential of foreign PTOs. With my proficiency for articles, I promise to write a midterm and end of term article summing up all the proposals and citizenship approvals of Congress.
