Buying and running your own eBusiness

Day 1,553, 13:21 Published in Belgium Belgium by Lisa van Neste

Dear eBelgian citizens,

Today we are going to look at resources and manufacturing. Perhaps you want to make a little money on the side, or perhaps you want to be totally self sufficient, either way, I will endeavor to give you as much information in this article to help you on your way.

Before we start, a new Excel company calculator has just been released, so if you have Microsoft Office 2007 or later, check out this link... https://sourceforge.net/projects/ecompanyguide/

We will look at two methods. Firstly, the cheap way, and secondly, the quick but expensive way, if you don't mind using your Mastercard to buy gold.

Money without the investment:

By now, you should be used to doing the missions, they appear on the left of your screen below your health and money accounts.
During these missions, you will be asked to build various grain farms and factories. It is a good idea to do these missions, as you are usually reimbursed for the cost of them when you receive the reward at the end of the mission.

In addition you will need to raise as many BEF's as you can. When you have enough money, go to "My Places" and click on the "+" button to the right of the companies heading. This will bring up your Build menu. If you are looking to sell your resources to make some extra money, it is a good idea to build cattle farms. Cattle farms are 8500 BEF each, but you gather four times the resources, for a quarter of the health loss. Always aim to buy the FRM (food raw materials) buildings of the highest level for BEF's, don't spend your gold.

As a second choice, if you want to get your resources ticking over quicker, you can opt for the Fruit Orchard, which is only Q2 and costs 3000 BEF, but still better value and more economical on your health than the grain farms.

You may choose to stop there and just sell the resources, which is the better way to make money, rather than making low quality food and trying to sell that. If you want to supply yourself with food though, it is a good idea to build a couple of food factories, just enough to keep yourself going.

For storage, invest in the 1000 storage buildings for 1750 BEF, and only buy them as you need them. To add storage buildings, go to "My Places" menu and click on the storage tab, then click on the "+" button near the top.

If you are purely doing this to make some BEFs, I would suggest sticking with the FRM's, and staying away from manufacturing until you can afford to build a Q4 or Q5 Food factory, as the price you will get for low QL food is not worth the labour cost in manufacturing. You will make a higher profit selling the FRM's.

Self sufficiency and manufacturing for the investor:

If you don't mind cracking out the Mastercard and spending some real money on the game, to get yourself self sufficient for weapons and food, then we will look at what you should be spending your gold on. It is worth keeping an eye out for Game Admin specials. They sometimes run special promotions where companies, or company upgrades are cheaper.

With any company, the higher the level it is, the better it is. Let's start with the FRM's, I would suggest buying the cattle farms, as usually the BEF rate is better value than to buy the Hunting lodge for gold. I would suggest the same for WRM's (Weapon Raw Materials), buy the Saltpeter Mines rather than the Rubber Plantation for the gold amount. As mentioned before, by using higher level Raw Material (RM) companies, you save the excess Health usage each day that you would use if you had 4 grain farms instead of one cattle farm, as you use 10 health each time you work in one of your companies.

Storage will also be required for all your raw materials. The only real option is the "normal storage" which holds 1000 items and costs 1750 BEF. If you have decided to invest real money, you are rewarded with Loyalty Points, that you can spend on certain items. If you acquire enough points, you can buy a storage that holds 20000 items for 175 loyalty points (LP's). Click on the "Gold and Extras" menu in game for more information.

Now let's talk about factories. When building from scratch, there are only 2 choices, Food factory or Weapons factory. Both cost 10 gold to build. I find Q1 food more than enough for myself, I have built myself a few food factories, and I usually have an excess of food. Though as I mentioned earlier, if you want to sell food to make your money, you should aim for a Q4 food factory or higher.

For weapons, however, even for just supplying yourself, the higher the quality the better, as they do more damage, and you get more uses out of each weapon. Basically you do more damage and get more experience per click. It can become very expensive upgrading weapons factories though. Usually from a Q1 weapons factory, it will cost you 20 gold for a Q2 factory, 70 gold for a Q3, 170 gold for a Q4, and 370 gold for a Q5.

It is also worth checking out the Companies for Sale on the Market, as sometimes you can pick up a higher level company a bit cheaper than you would building one yourself from scratch, and upgrading it.

Do your research:

The best thing I could recommend to anyone reading this, is to do your research. If the money market changes, perhaps you would prefer to buy the buildings with gold rather than converting to BEF's if you're an investor, but you should study the market yourself.

Most importantly though, if you're not sure, ask someone. There are many people around with a wealth of knowledge.

I hope I have been of some help to you, and I wish you luck in your business ventures in eBelgium
