Black Sheep Chronicle: Week 1

The Black Sheep Chronicle

Mission Statement

Our goal, as The Black Sheep Chronicle, is to provide a paper where fellow Black Sheep and eAmericans can stay up to date in all goings on in erepublik and even learn a thing or two.

Welcome All

Hello, friendos, Black Sheeps and eAmericans alike. Welcome to the first copy of The Black Sheep Chronicles. This party paper will be our attempt to reach out to our party members and those that reside outside of it. This has been coordinated by a multi member team and I’d like to thank everyone who put effort into it and those who will in the future. The plan as of right now is to release a paper every Thursday of every week.

I’d also like to invite all eAmericans to take a look into our party (https://www.erepublik.com/en/party/the-black-sheep-party-2397/1). We’re pretty straightforward in our beliefs and it can be found on our homepage on erepublik in the link provided. We believe in the lowest possible taxes as we constantly fight to keep the work tax at 1%. We are strictly anti-dictatorship. This is a democracy and we will fight to our last to protect our rights. And our most important platform is that your opinion is what matters most. There’s a reason we’re called the Black Sheep Party. We don’t hold strict views on many issues primarily due to believing in the voices of our members.

Feel free to chat with us at anytime. Message any of our leaders or members whenever with questions:

Party President: Henry William French

Vice Party President: Captain Black Sheep

Secretary General: Roper 70

Councillor: jadiv

Spokesman: Kobble

We also have a discord, as many don’t know. Anyone is free to join. Here’s the link:

Weekly News

Jimmy’s Downfall

The first major story of the week brewed up in congress. A showdown between the newly elected Speaker of the House, Jimmy Cincinnati, and his opponents. Many fiercely opposed Jimmy’s appointment due to his lack of experience and apparent lack of activity. At first it seemed as though Jimmy was fine fending off most attacks and any sign of impeachment was going to be shot down. However, things took a turn for the worst when it was uncovered that Jimmy had leaked private intelligence from the forums on SFP’s radio show.

Support for his impeachment almost immediately exploded and it was almost certain that the impeachment would pass. In a shocking turn of events, with only one hour left on the vote, Jimmy resigned as Speaker and appointed Bob Boudahili as the interim Speaker of the House. Afterwards, there was some doubt to the legitimacy of the move thrown up by the moderating senior member of congress, Oblige. That was quickly shot down, with Oblige even admitting to be wrong, and the succession of the position was finalized.

Votes are coming in now as this is published, to close that loophole, disallowing future Speakers to resign during an impeachment vote.

CBO Disclosures

There has been a lot of heated discussion over the release of available funds over the past week and how readily they should be made. Fortunately, a bill spearheaded by the Black Sheep Party, was passed to allow congress to view that amount and a bill is in the works to fix the code regarding disclosures. More comments on it below by our Vice President, Captain Black Sheep.

Party President Elections

Black Sheep Party: Henry William French was the lead man as usual in the election. Most likely the candidate to win and holding onto his title with Captain Black Sheep following behind. However, there are few new names who threw their names in such as Bobcat Tepes, declaring he will run so that Henry can run for Country President, and Kobble.

Federalist Party: Molly Emma had a strong lead and took away the Party Presidency quite easily.

Socialist Freedom Party: The SFP party presidency was the closest contested election this time around, as they usually are. Dillon Richards had the upper hand in this race and chickensguy just couldn’t manage to stir up enough votes.

Constitution Party: Gnilraps was set to take the Party Presidency without any real contention to his position and he did.

We The People: Cubby had the strong lead and there wasn’t much doubt in him holding onto the Party Presidency.

Arm America Reboot

There have been some talks of rebooting the old program of Arm America. Initiated during the war with Croatia, there appears to be some good support for it. However, there is some confusion on how to reinstate it (focus air weapons or ground damage), who controls it, and what is in the inventory currently. Good luck to those looking out for the little guys.

Party Leadership Update

This week we get to hear from our party’s Vice President Captain Black Sheep. Here’s what he has to say:

It's been a busy weekend as you may be aware. Due Arrden being not so active anymore Henry William French asked my help to be the vice president. I honorably agreed to this and I try to serve The Black Sheep Party[link] and eUSA people to the best of my ability.

There also has been a lot stuff ongoing in Congress although most of us dislike the forums quite a bit. Most importantly we managed to pass a bill[link: http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,44406.0.html] which allows us to do our job - to play our constitutionally appointed role while maintaining the security of this nation. This wouldn't have been possible without the help of SFP and our active congressmen. I have high hopes to other parties to stop nitpicking and respect the officially validated law.

I look forward to the rest of term and I wish to see us lowering the work pretty soon. Please do not hesitate to take contact with leadership if having any questions or thoughts.

Yours,
Vice President
Captain Black Sheep

Thank you Captain Black Sheep.

Black Sheep Tips of the Week:

“Tip: Beware affectionate puppies with onion breath.” - Bobcat Tepes

“Work and train every day!
I should hit 3000 straight days worked/trained in about 2 weeks! We all go thru periods of less activity, but everyone should at least work, train, blow off food fights once a day.”
- Jadiv

A Word From Our Fellow eAmericans Across the Parties

We’ve reached out to a congress member in each of the top 5 parties to get a low down on their views of current events and their parties. Let’s read what they have to say:

Federalist:
This week’s Federalist is Bob Boudahili:

“This has probably been one of the most trying times in Congress in sometime. The timing of some controversial legislation combined with a less experienced speaker team has led to much turmoil. I think 7 days in the Speaker is starting to find his footing, but it seems that many are actively trying to kick his legs out from underneath him. Regardless of how the Vote of No Confidence turns out, it is my hope that a modicum of collegiality will return. It makes everyone's life a bit easier when we are not all at each other's throats.”

Thanks Bob.

Socialist Freedom Party:
This week’s member from the Socialist Freedom Party is Maxwell Hanz

"With Jimmy's recent resignation congress has seemingly devolved a bit into a mud fight. Unfortunately with real life matters and the ensuing controversy I have taken somewhat of a reserved role in congress, though I do check it."

Thanks Max.

Constitution Party:
This week’s Constitutionalist is DMJohntson:

"The last week has pretty much been a shit show. There's been a lot of confusion and disagreement about a great many things, particularly things related to the office of the Speaker of the House. Now that Jimmy has resigned and appointed Bob as his successor, things have settled a bit and we're getting back to some more effective legislating."

Thanks DMJ.

Black Sheep Party:
This Week's Black Sheep is Kobble:

"It's certainly been a hell hole on congress, friendos. There's been fighting all around and I've done my best in fighting for our party while also maintaining due diligence in my role as Deputy Speaker of the House. Though, I don't personally believe in using the forums at all and I find them to be a chasm of internet tirades and bamboozling, we have to keep our presence there for now in order to make sure we don't get blind sided."

Thanks Kobble.

Black Sheep Writer’s Guild Sponsorship Program

We have some very generous party members out there and there are two who have offered to sponsor some fellow party members to write articles. We are always in search of writers. Whether you’re good or bad at writing we’ll accept you. Even if you’re bad at it, there’s always room to improve. Let’s get out and represent our party.

First offer comes from PMG-24 and here’s what he has to offer:

“I'm willing to sponsor someone who can publish at least 1-2 articles each week. The conditions are that the article has to stay on the front page, so BSP has at least one visible article all the time. This would be a good promotion as well, new players can see us active.Subject has to be relevant to party/congress activity, I will not pay for scandal or tabloid articles. Sponsorship can go out as weekly salary or one time pay/article.”

Even our own Vice Party President, Captain Black Sheep has offered to sponsor new writers.

Message either of these two or Kobble, Party Spokesman, if interested.

Final Notes

I’d like to thank each and every one of you who have taken their time to read the whole thing. I’d also like to thank our congressman for representing us and fighting for what we believe in. With due diligence we can achieve our goals and strive to be a better democracy for all of us.

Please feel free to comment your opinions on the article down below and stay tuned next week for another edition of the Black Sheep Chronicle.

As always, Stay Sheepy my friendos.
