Bill : Remove VAT on Food, Slight Increase For Weapons
Australian Warlord
Bill : Food VAT = 1%
Weapons VAT = 8%

Economics
There's no seperate statistics for eAustralia so eWorld stats are used.
(share of output capacity)
Food = 17.8%
Weapons = 22.3%
Current VAT on food per one unit output is $0.04.
Current VAT on weapons per one unit output is $0.065
Weapons VAT change would pay for the VAT removal on food (est).

Now people claim it's not required. However there's two things against this argument. Firstly the current low food prices ain't sustainable which means they will rise. Secondly the ADSP is yet again calling for wages to be reduced which makes the removal of this tax neccessary for the wellbeing of new players.
Finally it's new players that we want to retain & this is a practical step to help this.

""Secondly the ADSP is yet again calling for wages to be reduced""
Hmm actually I think it was every1 not just 1 party.
Well said, i don't see any objections. Are there any?
Well we banned him from the senate so this is illegal. That's my objection
Why is it, that you are the only one that cannot seem to follow the correct protocol, that you signed when you became part of the senate? And you wonder why you ended up getting banned.
The weapons market is currently struggling AW, you don't increase tax on a market that is struggling, you DECREASE IT!!!!
This is CheeseBall btw and learn to research a market before you try to destroy it!!!
MM, considering minimum wage allows you to eat q1 and save a little at the moment, i don't think a tax reduction is justified. The main struggle is the first week, after that it is not an issue, and we have this new scheme that educates new players, combined with the Smith Family charity that donates a weeks worth of food to new players
1)Good to see research. However, if the food prices aren't sustainable, then someone's stuffed up! eAus food is 150% as expensive as in, say, Ireland, and there is cheaper food that that on the market.
@coppr - *stuff* your procedures. All they do is ensure that no one outside the senate knows what's going on. Play secret policeman somewhere else.
Australian food is actually fairly cheap
in AW's defense how can he follow correct procedure when he has been banned?
1a. Pass the Proposal onto his closest Congress representive.
(I know for a fact he was approached by a Senator to propose it on his behalf)
2a. Raise the Proposal in Political Discussion for the Senate to View and Discuss.
(He was already informed of this Option)
By Protocol, the Senate has voted his Proposal down. It has been deemed illegal because of the method he chose to handle this issue.
We have procedures for a reason, and even after his removal we wouldv'e expected him to follow that.
Good to see someone actually trying to get things done, instead of wasting their tenure as a senator moaning in the forums.
Agree with the principle, food should be tax free.
Not convinced weapons tax needs to be increased to pay for it.
As a taxpayer it would be nice to see the taxes from food are going. Are they spent on the poor/impoverished/new players ? Or does it all go toward sustaining the wargames that are beyond the reach of those players ?
@AK: It's impossible to see where the money comes from, it just appears in the country treasury.
@AW: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=rSfNYKki9heuXp2vrJVvD5g&output=html" target="_blank">http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=r[..]html
Now tell me, is this really about "too much tax on food" or the fact that you like to go against the Government?
@Everyone else: Someday, I hope to include things like the estimated wellness, in addition to player level and exp. Feedback is more than wellcome 😃
Quote Able Kane:
"Or does it all go toward sustaining the wargames that are beyond the reach of those players"
Yep.. thats exactly it.
The treasurer proposes budgets to all departments, just so we can run a wargames. You caught us out.. I wish I could hold the blind knowledge you possess.
"Or does it all go toward sustaining the wargames that are beyond the reach of those players ?"
@Able: At the moment, at least 2k to 3k aud has gone towards the investment of new players (food, MT to move into battle zones as well as housing competition(from centrelink), which I am sure you have seen. This does not include the boot camp for new level 6 players for them to understand war games.
Currently, both the funding to MoCS for the new players and boot camp are experimental runs. As more eAustralian new players join, obviously the budget for both will grow as well.
Also, on a personal note, RUN FOR SENATE ABLE!!!!
AW you were giving options to go about this the right way but you chose not to. The entire reason we have the forums and the procedure that we do is so that we can actually have intelligent debate on matters.
You seek to deprive us of that because you know this bill would not stand up against an intelligent debate. There are far to many flaws with your arguments about why the food tax should be removed.
If you don't want to play by the rules like everyone else then do not complain when we don't let you play.
Senate FAIL!
Alex, why should intelligent debate be handled in secret? IRC, the forums and newspapers are available to all. The only 'advantage' to insisting that discussions are handled behind closed doors is that senators can hide their personal agendas from their voters.
When a majority of senators own companies, this is a major consideration.
Senate FAIL!
x2
@WL: A proposal like this would've been proposed in the main area, which is viewable by all who are registered on the forums.
Only matters concerning breaches of the security protocol, and national defence/security are handled in the Sensitive area.
@AW: I'm still awaiting your response to my spreadsheet "counter argument" 😉
@Ezekial about 11-12 comments up.
He was supposed to read proper senate procedure, which he hasn't. Therefore, he is banned. He knows what he is and isn't supposed to do.
@Calibur : You've a known cheat, it's a bit hypocritical to talk about proper procedure. Additionally the ban is 100% to do with ePolitical oppression.
Senate protocol, why don't all those saying this actually tell everybody about this. And whilst we're talking about senate protocal, since when is it acceptable for certain people to willfully discuss sensitive material on the public chatrooms. I'll tell you when, when it's done by certain "acceptable" people.

@Srg91 : I'm a elected congress member. Since when should I beg to others to propose things (which many congress members had actually campaigned for & only prove that their word is untrustworthy by voting against it).

What we see here is how many congress members oppose the very concept of democracy.
