Belgium in the constitution, please !! // België in de grondwet, aub !!

A couple of days ago I started a discussion in the UK congress about the recognition of the UK-minorities and the special situation of the Belgians.
If my proposal would be accepted, the UK recognises a Belgian local congress, a local government and a local treasury (Belgian SO) which get funded by the funds of the 3 Belgian regions, the taxes of the mayors and the donations of the Belgian citizens.
It should also have a paragraph about the possibility to transfer tasks from the UK congress and Regional council to the Belgian local congress.
I hope this proposal will be approved by the congress when I launch 3 proposals about this matter in congress.

Interesting, given the geographic and social seperation of Belgium from the rest of the UK, such devolution makes perfect sense. Good luck.
I also have a lot of sympathy with your proposals, but have a few questions:
1. Can you give some positive examples of what tasks you would like to see transfered to the new assembly?
2. Will you be giving a commitment that you want some \"basic tasks\" e.g. defence to remain with the UK Congress?
3. How will you try to ensure that all language communities (including the rest of the UK) will be fully involved in the new assembly?
1.
the mayors will be able to set their taxes in the range of a band that is decided by the Regional Council. The Belgians want to set their own taxes. We also want a part of the defense: we should have the right not to attack. We also want to have official embassuies, own funding policies, ...
2.
The economy should stay in, the UK. We share the same market, so that would be impossible. But as stated before, we want a part of the defense (right not to fight)...
3.
that would not be easy. But we could have an English newsletter for non dutch, french or german speaking Belgians.
Don\'t forget that ore than 90% of the active Belgians are RL-Belgians
