The eUS Congress, under the direction of the ruling five parties (Except the UIP), have decided to CANCEL the July elections through single run congressional seats.
From the AAP forums:"We will be freezing the seats in Congress based on the results of June elections."
"The AAP, USWP, Libs, and CvP have all agreed to this measure, in the name of "Protection from foreign PTOs"
"For now the only holdout is the UIP, so if they do not get on board only their 6 seats are going to be contested...Sign-ups for running for Congress this month are now closed, regardless of the decision of the UIP."
Did you read that friends? The top-4 parties has already decided the winners of the congressional election and declared them closed!
This cannot come to pass, this disenfranchises all voters,this will remove the right of all of us to choose who leads our country.
The SFP will NEVER agree to these terms, better to be crushed under the weight of fascism as we defend democracy than to EVER bow down to the ruling elite and allow our rights to be quashed under jack-booted oppressionists.
Inform our countrymen, before the light of democracy flickers and dies.

Freedoms tend to be tested at times of great war.
There are more important things going on. We cannot afford to lose any of our allies to a PTO right now, and the last thing we need is a media where people cant find official military orders because they have to sort through a couple hundred "VOTE FOR MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" articles.
That's alvays hov fascism starts, the government taking overprotective measures for the sake of national security. They're shutting dovn elections for your ovn good.
@Chocolate McSkittles -- freedoms tend to be tested, but the key for the preservation of democracy is for someone to fight to maintain those freedoms. We cannot afford to fail the tests of our freedoms. It is possible to have both defenses against PTOs and democratic elections -- it just takes some self-sacrifice and willingness to stop stroking one's ego for a month.

Me, and the UIP are going to countinue to oppose this. We will not be going along with this crap.
And please, for that very reason, edit out the top five ruling partys, stuff. Last time I checked the UIP is in the top five, and we oppose it.

I can see both sides of this issue. Im just gonna stay neutral.
@ HR; I believe that all major parties (except the UIP) have already agreed to, or plan to agree, to this.
This isn't about the primaries, that's another issue in and of itself.
This would not even allow voters to vote on out-of-game congressional seats.

@ Captain, The SFP stands with you on this, and I hope the other parties will change their agreements to this. (Even if it's only to save face.)
The eAmerican people deserve better than this. Tax hikes are one thing. We've taken our decreased pay and spent it on increasingly expensive weapons. But freezing the elections is going too far. If our congresspersons want to live in a dictatorship, SFP will provide the moving tickets.
@HR: It's always "nothing has been decided" until something HAS been decided. Then it's "why didn't you say anything before we decided?"

I keep seeing ads for people running for Congress. It looks like elections haven't been frozen.

I will not support any of this election tampering nonsense. Those who have said giving up our freedoms for security is not worth the cost are spot on. Say NO to congressional seat freezes. Say YES to choice in representation.
First it was primaries which try to usurp election control from the game and exclude those who just want to play the basic game and now this which seeks to exclude Everyone from choice. I want to protect our nation and our interests but this is not the way.
It is also impractical, as we all know people can click to run under even parties who support this and the voters will make their choices. Some parties may endorse this plan, but I hope some party members out there know better and will dissent.
Vote your consciences, not parties, and not who parties tell you to!
Master, it is only because those people are not aware that seats are right now, being attempted to be frozen. Its just top party officials that are discussing it right now.
Welcome to the National Security State. Kudos to the UIP for opposing this nonsense. @Chocolate McSkittles -- please remember that even in the darkest period of the Civil War & other conflicts, the RL USA never took away the right to hold free elections.
All I can say is that I am proud to be a member of the UIP. They are unafraid to stand up for all citizen's rights even under threat of political retaliation.
This is exactly the reason I joined a party who believes in fighting for the best interests of eAmerica over their own party standing.

Perfect quote right there. I have now decided to quit the CvP and join the UIP.
While on principle I disagree with any decision that might be made to suspend elections for this month, I have to respect this decision because, quite frankly, seemingly half the country are in three or four states meaning that the election results, were they to be held today, would be highly skewed in the favor of smaller parties who focus on smaller states. In practice I support a 1 month moratorium on Congressional elections.
The crazy thing is that as much as the leaders of the other four parties want to take away open elections, it just is not possible. Two-clickers will vote however they see fit, regardless of how the candidates are chosen.
I only hope that they realize that the UIP is the only party with the ability to field candidates who is taking a stand against this election rigging.
The official reasoning behind this primary and seat freezes are to free up voters to use against PEACE PTO's, but I fear that they will mainly be used to snipe UIP candidates simply as an act of revenge.

They also give a list of the states currently fielding UIP and more or less call them targets.
That doesn't sound like a "moratorium" to me.
Looks like it might just be time to leave this rotting carcass of a country, and move to eSpain maybe.

Free elections are, quite obviously, the basis of a democracy. Taking away this fundamental right cancels out the democracy. Even if it is put back in place after the war, it makes no difference. Once such a precedent has been set it can be recalled and used again. Really afraid of a foreign takeover? The best thing you can do for them would be to cancel the elections.
