Hello Friends!

My name is Robert Bayer - I'm a longtime player of eRepublik (though recently I've been less active and vocal than I have been in the past) and I'm running for Congress in Vermont on the United Independent Party ticket, and endorsed by the Socialist Freedom Party.

I have fairly extensive experience. In the past, I served as the PP of the Socialist Freedom Party, as well as on its executive board. I've also served three terms in Congress, two of them consecutive. During my time there, I worked with the president and other senators to fight against foreign invasion, reduce the VAT, ensure national independence, take down Ajay Bruno, and preserve democracy at home. In other words: I know how to get things done.

Regardless of whether or not I am elected (though it would help greatly if I were elected), I aim to work to accomplish the following:

* Strengthen our nation's military so that we can resist foreign aggression, while simultaneously holding it accountable to the elected branches of government

* Initiate proposals to lower the Value-Added Tax on nearly all items while increasing the income tax, so that beginning players will not be as negatively affected and will be more inclined to stay (thereby strengthening our position as we fight against Russia)

* Revive the concept of government-run weapons factories, so that our military will be assured of a sufficient supply of weapons, regardless of what the free market looks like at the time. While I understand objections to the use of government-run industry, the problem is that weapons-manufacturing is not very profitable, leading to shortfalls in weapon stockpiles during times of crises and, as a result, skyrocketing prices.
