Australia Today

What is wrong with this country?
We talk about becoming a world power, a leader amongst nations. True, our days of isolationism are over. But we are constantly falling into line behind others. At first, we stuck to Indonesia. I don't think this was wrong, as at the time it made sense. But as the months dragged on, and it became clear that Indonesia had no intentions of giving us Western Australia, we should have begun to find other ways of winning her back. This might have been military, or otherwise. But, we did nothing. We sat, and we waited. And nothing happened.
Then, EDEN. America's Imperialist ideas have inflated its head, and thought that Australia would happily fall into line. There were complaints, but we did. We are now, diplomatically, a pawn of the EDEN alliance. And, what is worse, is that we will never be anything else under the current government. But I don't think it is too late for us.
We, as Australians, must band together, and prepare this country economically, politically and militarily for independence. True, we are not the biggest country, but we do now have a economically rich territory (in Western Australia), and we have the population to at least have a decent army.
Australians are some of the greatest people in the eWorld. We know when to talk about our differences, we do not hold back our thoughts from those at the top, and we surely do have one of the greatest nations on the ePlanet. We must harness that energy, that drive, and take our place in the sun. Now is the time, Australians!

The fact is we have to have someone to be our allies atm as eIndo is still a threat.
True, I was meaning that we should not be EDEN's puppet, and should choose our allies because WE want to, not anyone else.
were a small country man, we cant defend ourselfs from anyone if we are alone. eden is being the nice uber alliance and protecting us with mpps. they didnt say anything about us falling in line, they said the oposite. when they got us WA back THEY GAVE AUS the CHOICE to join the alliaces or just do whatever we want, they didnt DICTATE to join they didnt FORCE us. the aus gov decided it was the best move for aus. we could of just given back WA to eindo and went back to living under their thumb but the gov made the choice to move forward instead of standing still and signed the mpps and alliances.
I know we are a small country. I even admitted that in the article. And I wasn't saying lets be all alone. I said we shouldn't be under EDEN's thumb. And its not like they would have actually let us slip through their fingers. They gave us the choice so they wouldn't look bad.
For starters we did not sit about and wait while eIndo had WA. We planned and we negotiated and we planned some more. We were actually getting somewhere in negotiations when the Resistance War broke out.
Next. We have not joined EDEN at this time. We have made some MPP's with various countries, that is all.
"And, what is worse, is that we will never be anything else under the current government."
About the above statement by you... You may have noticed that as from today, we do in fact, have a NEW government.
Try to keep up. 😛
I know we have a new government. I voted. I was also aware of the negotiations. But it did not seem to me that we were getting anywhere.
As to the fact we haven't joined EDEN, I was not aware of.
