Aussie Achivements
Comrade Robb
"eAustralia is what? Militarily impressive? No. Famous for protecting new, fragile nations (eg the Philippines, China)? No. For creating industry and wealth? No. For the depth and wide coverage of our media? No."
This line was muttered on a newspaper a couple of days ago and I beg to differ with the commenter (identies will remain hidden in this newspaper)
Militarily impressive- - We have a fine Military strengh. 2.47 for three regions. Damm thats only a little less than the UK (2.67) and they own the whole country. Imagine what Oz could do with all our regions.
Famous for protecting new, fragile nations- - Erm. We kinda have a bit of a problem at home before we start worrying about China. And I'm sure we have men/women overseas (Australlian Legion) fighting for the liberty of others. I don't think they should cuz it weakens us here but they are fighting against Indonesia abroad.
Creating and Impressive industry and wealth- - hmm well ok thats true but we have good companies. Inside Inc and the True Blue companies. And two days ago our inflation was at -26% now it's at +3% inflation has massivly increased over two days. An Acheivement by any rate!
For the depth and wide coverage of our media - - I report on world happenings once or twice. I interviewed a God. We have good newspapers which I subsricbe to. The measure of a media's quality is it's number of conflicting views. So far I can think of a few. the main one being between the Goverment and the Australian Legion.
I rest my case. We have plenty to be proud of and all Aussies should be proud that we are here and now making the difference.
Comments
Fine military strength, ha : Everybody should look at the evidence. eAustralia is ranked 46th out of 51. The only enations worst than us are eNations that virtually don't exist. This article is just another piece of propaganda by eIndonesian sympathisers to mislead you about the current state of affairs in eAustralia.
46th out of 51 ain't a fine military.
As the provocateur who inspired this article, I'd like to thank Comrade Rob for responding. The purpose of my grumble wasn't to drag us down, but to remind people how far we have to go.
Robb - yes, we have our own problems, and that makes it much harder to help others. But we are caught in a vicious cycle of being uable to do things because we are weak, and weak because people don't want to join an ineffective nation.
Newspapers - you subscribe? Good. 1000 subscribers is the benchmark for a newspaper. We have about 1000 Asutralians playing. So we if all subscribe to every Aussie newspaper, we'll kick start the 4th estate and create much needed gold that can be used to buy industries in recovered states. I have (I think) subscribed to every Aussie newspaper, by the simple if time consuming method of going through our rankings page to find every player with one.
Military strength - guys, look on the forums, we've got experienced players who can't afford to work every day, much less train! Our military strength is literally being starved to death!
We need to modify medicare to encourage people to train. It is necessary for both military might and to get people the eps they need to level and thus earn bonus gold - that can be invested in companies and houses.
Still, thanks again for responding.
IMO the most effective way to increase our military standing is to have MPP's with Indo so we can fight in their wars from our own backyard once we get the hospitals up and running.
Now for what I hate, People who present numbers as facts without the understanding of where the numbers came from.
Now I realize we are all guilty of this but let’s not hold a massive ideal about "Average Strength" when in reality the average strength is not what is going to come to the party when a war breaks out. The simple fact is Average Strength take account of how many players are in a country and what their strength is.
Lets look at eAustralia, Avg Str of 2.48
Total polulation counted to get that Avg Str 2259 Regions 3
How many of active accounts does that include???
Who knows but I can guarantee 2259 people are not playing for eAustralia and would not come to the fight so what the point of the average strength.
Now lets look at eGreece, Population 243 Avr Str 3.27 Regions 1
This on the other hand looks a lot closer to a correct estimate on its average strength, we are talking about a land that has just been re-taken so we can safely assume near all the accounts are active and its only in 1 region.
On the other end of the stick eUSA, population 12,515 Avg Str 3.01 total regions 51.
Who wants to guess as to how many inactive accounts are in that country. Is their total fighting force 3 though? I think not, I’d say it would be a lot higher then 3 but its being brought down by the averages.
So does Avg Str actually mean anything?
Nope as its not accurate enough to use it as a base of comparison.
why make all comments so big o.0
Why not if you have a lot to say?
Would you prefer if I just yelled out "Avg Str is in accurate" and not showed any proof to my arguement as other do?
To be honest i didn't even read the article 😒
Maybe its because the topic has "Achivments" is that even a word?
ah yeah sorry. My spelling is awful. 😒 I'll edit later. I blame dislexica but I can't spell it so I can't
Here's another stat. Only 5 eAustralians in the top 2000 in military strength.
LOL @ Robb's comment
@AW: Considering the population of eRepublik to be ~50k, I think that's a very good thing, it shows that we have some very active players who'd be very helpful if "push came to shove" in a battle between Aus and some other country.
