Attention Publishers: Using the eRepublik Forums
LordFaux
Hello and welcome to the first ePeople Magazine interest article. In the last issue we stated that weekly Who's Who in eRepublik will not be used to promote political agendas. That is true, but the same can not be said for these interest articles. The topics here will range widely but will always have to do with, you guessed it... eRepublik. This article is in response to other articles recently written in the United States and a major problem with the local news outlet, and will hopefully garner the attention of some of our new newspaper publishers... and some of the old too.
The eRepublik forum is a great place to go if you want to write and communicate with your fellow eRepublik citizens. Yes, I know, most video game forums are relatively boring places where you go to get tech support, spoilers, and patches but it is not so in eRepublik! In fact, it seems most of the game actually takes place there. If you want to talk about real life news, express yourself, and even learn about the game the forums are the place to be. Yes, you will still be viciously attacked by old school eRepublik cronies (heh heh, luv ya guys!) but at least at the forums your posts will be sorted into appropriate categories, have a more permanent presence, and gain international attention. Who knows, if people like what you post they'll check your profile, make friends with you, and subscribe to your magazines. As you can see in the other articles on this topic, try not to use the newspapers for off-topic conversation, self expression, or real life news. This is just friendly advice and your right to freedom of the press is in know way truly infringed here. The forums are just a better place for that kind of writing. They include sections on economy, society, politics, and military for your eRepublik thoughts; sections for news, help, tips, and off topic posts; and an admin section for bug reports, suggestions, and rules.
So! That said, what makes sense to put in published newspaper articles? Try to use your imagination and roleplay a little bit. You are an eRepublik reporter tasked with bringing us interesting and useful eRepublik news! How are the country economies doing? Editorials on how government leaders are doing anyone? What changes happened over the last week in Ireland? What big spat occurred in the forums between eRepublik greats? The possibilities are endless, just take your time and think it through. Thank you for reading.
As a final note, ePeople would also like to say that we think this problem will thin out a little bit when the business module for publishing is implemented. Thanks again.

Awesome. I approve this message.
Good article. One thing is that, you can't ALWAYS post what you want in the forums. Example: Is Dish or am I going to publish an article on the latest news from the DoD on the forums? That'd be rather absurd. The forums ARE a great form of communication, especially (my favorite) the Suggestions forums, but when published articles in the news I feel a sense of privacy.
True there may be a smidgeon more privacy in the newspapers because they aren't broadcast internationally but anyone who wants to know whats going on in our DoD merely has to look at the USA local news or even just subscribe to your magazines. Its almost as accessible as the forums to someone who wants to know.
yeah, but putting it on the forums is basically public access. even more so than that of an outside-subscriber (like me and Falcon). its not like people go hunting down for secret information, or information supposed to be known only to country members. but if they are perusing through the forums and they spot information that is aimed to be private, then that information is now less private than that of a newspaper article.
for USA only
huhhh...
btw,
nice article
Good writing..
I too love the suggestions section, Benn
