For those who didnt hear our beloved Defense minister get your ass up to the Irish forum, http://erepublikireland.freeforums.org and sign up for the military. As long as you dont hold a mayoral position or a congressional seat or own a company you need to sign up for the ISDF.
We have a possible war on the horizon if any of yall read the forums we are ill-prepared. In the last war we participated in SEVEN ISDF soldiers showed up. That is inexcusable for a country with TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY THREE PEOPLE. Hell all it takes is to sign up on the forum and if you ask the minister he will give you money for weapons and tickets. I had a more people show up to a fight when I ran a mercenary company. I had more people show up to a battle then this entire country ? That is more then ridiculous. What incentive do yall need to click your mouse 5 times and go to the forums and sign up. ? Should I just set up another mercenary company and pass it off as the country of Ireland. Heck at least other nations would be happier when we fought because this time Ireland would have more people.
Join the ISDF before our country is lost an a sea of complaceny where we cannot even defend our own shores much less help our allies.

Everyone who can sign up should - the time may come where eIreland would have to defend itself but as a fighting force eIreland has slightly more than zero experience - very slightly.
There is no excuse for this - fighting is not fatal and adds another dimension to the game - I simply don\'t know why people aren\'t lining up to join eIrelands armed forces.
Now - that said - I couldn\'t find the sign-up thread last night on the eIrish forums - can someone please reply to this posting a link ?

I\'ve posted in the sign-in thread I think, and I need to get approval of access again before I can see the other threads in the forums. I\'m in Sweden now as some of you know, but my interest has always been protecting Ireland. My life for Ireland!

I thought ISDF had a requirement of atleast strength 4, so why are you shouting at the new members? I\'ve joined the IDF, since that is withing my strength range. but it won\'t be for another 17 days before i\'m strength 4.
If you can\'t join the ISDF than atleast join the IDF. If you are unable to join the IDF because of not being able to meet the requirements than train up until you meet them. The requirements are in place to make sure that you don\'t become cannon fodder.
There is no real special difference between ISDF and IDF, just the fact that that there is a small difference in requirement and that people with nominations can\'t leave the country and therefore need to join the IDF. It\'s all explained on the forum really, just show some interest and read up.

Nithraldur, if that was directed at me, then you could\'ve read from my post that i\'ve already signed up for the IDF. All i\'m saying is that Patton was just talking about ISDF and he was apparently making the post for lazy old members and NEW members, who don\'t meet the requirement. That\'s all i was saying.

Cracken I apologize I was not aware of the level 4 strength list. Personally I disagree with it especially if we are helping to defend a friend\'s country. Maybe there should be no requirement
well its an elite force created to assist our allies should the need be. being an elite force means you must have some strength requirements. i changed it to 3.5 so its a little easier for people to get there. I dont agree with sending off untrained soldiers to die for someone elses country, i do believe in sending well trained soldiers to assist another country though.
I see your point on the elite force and we should have an elite force but I also see this reasoning behind large numbers of warm bodies. In addition when you are defending you recieve like a 150 % bonus so a level 2.00 soldier with a Q1 rifle can kill 2-3 people before getting hit. The experience they would gain in these wars would be invaluable to helping our own military.
Maybe their could be the elite ISDF who only go when an ally is attacking someone and then the rest of the iSDF could go when our ally would be on the defensive.
i honestly dont see a problem with someone waiting to get to 3.5 strength in order to be part of the ISDF, if you are looking for a compromise the lowest id go for a requirement is 3.0 strength. you must remember it is the irish SPECIAL defense force. it means a higher quality of fighter is required for special duties at home and abroad. I dont want to send untrained soldiers into foreign conflicts so they can become cannon fodder for someone elses cause, we need to send people who can actually aid our allies with a high possibility of returning relatively unscathed and ready to serve the motherland. Let me know what you think.
I can compromise at level 3
