ATLANTIS Treaty - Securing Our Country
Archibald
We have signed on to a new agreement - the ATLANTIS Treaty - that formalizes our alliance with the countries of the UK, Sweden, Romania, Spain, Norway, Argentina, and Brazil. This is a list of the founding members, and we will continue to work to add more nations. The USA has seen nothing but growth in strength lately, and this alliance with several other Top 5 nations will place us in a secure position for the forseeable future. This treaty has been in development for a long time, and I personally am very excited about it.
Mexico vs. Spain
The Mexican Congress contacted me a few days ago requesting annexation from either the USA or Spain, preferably the USA. They hoped to do this before the next general elections. I told them that the USA would not do that and that I wished Mexico would remain independent, but also that I understood if they wanted to pursue this. I have always supported an independent Mexico, but I will not go against the wishes of the Mexican people to achieve this. The USA is officially neutral in this conflict. Spain is an ally of our country that we already share borders with, so I see no harm that can come from this to our nation. I have offered continuing support to the people of Mexico no matter what banner they are under, and also promised to welcome them with open arms if any of them would like to move to another country.

Spain is using Mexico as an in-road to Portugal. Sounds good to me.
Spain is stopping the goons ^ (points finger)
MVerslayer paid the goons to go there to mess with the US and stabbed them in the back. Now goons will have Spain. You guys just should have played nice, we weren\'t hurting anyone.
nice, voted 🙂
voted...spain is very strong do we really want them to get stronger? who knows they might take advantage of our allience and go for south america.
Meh. If it\'s that simple, I\'d rather see USA take in Mexico than Spain.
\"Spain is an ally of our country that we already share borders with, so I see no harm that can come from this to our nation.\"
except we never had a MPP with them until now, they now borders us on our East and soon South.
Why would we want a super power to gain more land and now share boarders and a continent?
And i think its greatly amusing that we wont have anything to do with annexing Mexico but we support Spain doing it, when just a couple weeks ago most of us were outraged at the thought.
Explain again why we can\'t annex Mexico?
Because Canada has no borders with Mexico 🙂
^ This is USA President\'s paper, not Maple Syrup Daily.
Score is the competitive heart of this game, and allowing Spain to walk in on a neighboring country is a lost opportunity. Had I not known Mexico asked for American annexation, I would condone Spain\'s campaign against the goons. Now, this is tarnished with American political complacency.
I dont like the idea of allowing Spain get too close to us.
Good article Archibald, voted & suscribed 🙂
BTW Ikarti, Spain is going to help Mexico, and we paid war with our money so i dont see your point acusing me of paying GOONS to invade Mexico..-.-
Salutes.
Is it only me seeing this, or have we just allowed Spain to become the most powerful country in Erepublik at a safe distance from Romania & USA??
Archibald, please explain in detail why it was a good idea to refuse our Mexican friends when they requested annexation to the USA.
