Assassi"nation" [WGC]
Alias Vision
On the 14th of July France invaded Canada through Nova Scotia. Nominally the justification for this act of aggression was the previous actions of this nation in regards to operation French Toast. This may in fact have been the case but in view of this administration's efforts to close the war and the willingness to pay reparations, the cause loses much of its lustre. Had past Canadian transgressions truly been the root cause for war, the invasion would have stopped after Nova Scotia or shortly thereafter. Certainly by the conquest of Quebec the price would have been paid in full. But the invasion of course did not end there, add the undertakings of the United Kingdom and Hungary, the picture is all the more clear. The goal was and has always been, the complete obliteration of Canada. Ideally the destruction of North America as a whole capable of providing a counter point to any future PEACE endeavour.
There is no peace in the hearts of PEACE. What we are seeing today with this world war is the attempted assassination of Canada and the United States. You have all heard the rumours of pacts proposed by PEACE to end this conflict. The proposals are real but in every case they amount to one thing... token gestures requiring the complete surrender of anything of value with the added penalties in gold ensuring that no resistance will ever originate from North America for months to come. Actually, if these peace treaties were signed both Canada and the US would cease to matter in any significant way for much longer, perhaps permanently. The reason being that they would grant nothing to build on. Through attrition, boredom, apathy, both nations would be reduced to shells of their former selves, their economies shattered and militaries neutered. There would actually be a greater chance at renewal if both countries lost all their regions and the citizens were forced into exile than if they are left with a handful of weak regions.
The scary part about all this is that the destruction of North America is only the opening act. Once that theatre of war is fully under control, PEACE forces will then span the globe settling other scores and destroying other nations. There is no such thing as neutrality in the New World any more. This is something that too many nations, both friendly and neutral, fail to grasp completely. Although the spectre of PEACE rule will never rest easily on our shoulders, we must recognize the exemplary discipline they have shown in their waging of this war. At no point has the goals been unclear, the orders contradictory or the propaganda vague. What PEACE has shown the world is that a force united is an unstoppable one and that as long as allies will look to their own interests first above that of the collective, they will fail.
But what exactly is PEACE doing? Are they not fulfilling the desires of imperialistic Hungary? There is irony here in that Hungary was once in the position Canada and the US find themselves in today. At the time they were shown mercy and salvation was found in PEACE. It was understood that they were beaten and many in the world rallied to their side. Who now will rally to our side? Most of the free world is already engaged to some measure in the conflict and almost all the middle powers who could change the tide are mere puppet states of PEACE. What pride is there in France to have her strings pulled or her pieces moved across the chess board without will of her own? What life resides in the United Kingdom as they remain mostly mute while her PEACE handlers play shell games with conquered regions. Russia, in the midst of a sustained baby boom, remains a pseudo-state. By all rights they should have pride of place, a superpower in waiting, but many of her most valuable regions are held by the foreign powers that she is supposed to be friends with. Has Canada and the US ever asked Spain to cede Asturias to them to solidify their iron needs? Never, so why would Russia accept that very treatment.
In this endgame that Hungary and Indonesia are crafting for themselves, the final conflict must be between the two giants. Why else destroy in a way that no other war has achieved if you are not trying to eliminate the very spirits of those nations. Hungary and Indonesia should, must, re-examine their motivations while there are still new alliances to be made and new dynamics to be explored. A New World polarized between these superpowers is one that risks stagnation unless the balance and alliances are redefined.
As for us in North America, and all those friendly to us, the challenge is to find new ways of achieving results. It is also planning for the potential forced exile and the renewal of our strengths. Specifically, it is electing on the 5th administrations that will provide real leadership, can articulate a vision for the future and provide a plan even the youngest citizen can follow.
The biggest obstacle we have to overcome is ourselves, the collective will of our peoples must move as one. We must urge all our governments to link resources as well as intentions. We must continue to question, challenge our opposition. Make them look internally so that they better see the picture externally.
This is a great chess match and so far PEACE has been the only grandmaster at the table. It is time we match their intensity and desire.

A+ on the article and I agree fully!
Vive l'eCanada!
Vive la liberté.
the motives of hungary - high oil, hiigh iron, high diamond, high wood, high fun
Good article as always.
Good article. And Zoli's trolling is always welcome.
Well, at least he's honest.
At some point the best path is to move to another platform (game) and leave eRepublik to stagnate. There is no game once there is only one side and especially if that side brooks no North American playability. Why invest time and money? Leave the game and move on to more stable, playable, and enjoyable pursuits. It would be fun to take a group from eRepublik and move en mass elsewhere with some cogent strategy and leave the Hungarians and Indonesians the carcass they have created.
that is an option, but which game offers us to operate as a Nation, as this one does. and trying to decide a game for all to go to, would be a battle within ourselves and at this point we do not need that
Attacking a country has consequences. You can't ask for forgiveness and peace and think we will just give it...
What kind of image does that give? "Come and attack us to have fun, we'll forgive you in a couple of weeks".
And if you ask for peace, don't try 3 pto's in 3 elections in a row !
Still ,wha tcost you your country was the fact that you stood besides the USA. You shouldn't have decided to defend them all the way. They do not deserve it.
---
About us stopping mdiway. Is this a joke?
Did you see a war start and then see the atatcking country just withdraw because they are satisfied?
As I said, once a war starts, they are concequences. Had we withdrawn, you would have striked us back with the USA on your sie in our own lands. Once a war starts, you go to the end of it, winning or loosing.
Would you have stoped midway in Frenchtoast had we not booted you out in French toast? Surely not.
what was operation French Toast?
That was when canada and the USA invaded France, destroyed two of our hospitals, and took two of our regions. We would have lost our country, had we not been helped by our allies.
France never attacked the USA before, nor canada. Canada attacked us once more later.
And tried some PTO (send voters to our country to get hold of the gouvernement) while france never EVER participated in any PTO attemps on a country.
I agree with Clancy, but what possible alternative is there?
Let us know if you have anything in mind.
The kind of game Clancy is proposing is boring.
There are many many games with strategy with a mmo side.
But none allows players the freedom of eRep. They all have limitation, no drive because you play endlessly for the same thing, knowing if you spend ressources to atatck an ennemy, at best you'll keep the region a coupe lf hours before it gets back to him.
There really is no drive to win.
He didn't even name any, and you're saying they are boring?
FAIL
No, I believe Clancy is right. Warfare, endless warfare is what's boring. It takes more skill, more thought, and more talent to engage in economic or diplomatic strategies. Most MMOs show us that children can excel at shoot 'em ups and blow 'em ups. eRebuplik has the potential to be more than World of War Doom Evercrack, but it now is degenerating into just another military fetish game.
For adults with more than two brain cells to rub together, the game was interesting, it has now become boring. Boom, boom, pow, pow. Whatever.
Count me in for a new start at a game for grown ups.
'And tried some PTO (send voters to our country to get hold of the gouvernement) while france never EVER participated in any PTO attemps on a country.'
Damn, I wish I knew what rat bastards from here decided to use PTO. The tactic disgusts me honestly.
@Doug McKenzie:
In a previous article you said PEACE had no honour.
In fact, what you reproach us now, you, as a country or as a part of an alliance, did it to us.
You're new (at least newer than me!). When I began this game I spent a lot of time learning the story of the New World, and although I can't pretend to know it well it was quite interesting; I think you should do the same as it should help you understand actual behaviours and reactions of some countries.
Tyler F Durden.
I'm saying that because I tried a lot of them before. Admitedly not all of them, but at least a dozen.
From pig farms, firefighters game, airports simulation, strategy with a simily of conquest (you get an ennemy zone for 3 hours if you win a battle and it's given back...) and so on.
There is no drive in those game like in eREP.
Well if yo uwere to leave the game it would be beneficial for us, less canadians to worry about we could continue our path with less opositions, so I won't try hard to convince you to stay lol.
Peace =eternal Peace alliance .
Kill them all alliance .
very well put!
