Asher Di Immortales for the East Midlands; A Congressional Manifesto

Day 761, 09:59 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Asher Di Immortales
Greetings, fellow East Midlander! I am Asher Di Immortales, the TUP congressman for the East Midlands.

Wow, what an exciting month! Firstly we had the blocking attempt on the USA which resulted in us taking 6 of their regions, then we had the return and subsequent rejection of Ajay Bruno under his guise of “Winston,” and finally we had the massively successful invasion of Belgium, which saw the UK military defeating Greek, Romanian and American opponents! Overall this month has been very successful for the eUK, and I have been proud to be a part of Parliament.

In this manifesto I will outline my experience, my beliefs and a brief summary so that you can decide whether I’m fit to represent you, the people of the East Midlands, for a second time.

My Experience

• Currently I am the Under-Minister for Entertainment in the Ministry of Home Affairs. This term I have drawn out plans for the biggest FryDay in eUK history (due to be launched on New Year’s day) and the first ever eUK Christmas event. This will be launched on Wednesday. I have also run the National Lottery very successfully, to the extent that the last draw featured one of the biggest jackpots ever! Previously I have organised a highly successful Limerick competition in the Entertainment forum.
• I am currently an Apprentice in the Ministry of Trade, where I have monitored the domestic price of iron and guns at all Quality levels. This has given me valuable economic experience.
• I was in the first batch of recruits to join the Royal Marines after they were first formed. Being in the most active division of the Royal Navy has given me great experience and huge amounts of fun and I have fought in numerous wars, including the PEACE invasion of North America and the Hungarian invasion of Slovakia, and even took part in an anti-PTO attempt.
• Currently I am in HMS Daedalus, a stay-at-home Navy ship, and am working for a Navy company for the minimum wage in order to supply the Navy with as many guns as possible.
• I was a member of the now disbanded Recruitment Office, the eUK Military recruitment scheme which aimed to entice new players into the military via the media. While a part of this I wrote two articles which both reached number 1 nationally.
• I am a member of TUP, the largest political party in the eUK. I agree with its policies and beliefs and through TUP I have made many brilliant friends, without whom I wouldn’t be here today.
• Last month I was elected to represent the East Midlands in Parliament (Congress). While in Parliament I have been very active in the House of Commons forum, and have obtained a high voting record on all issues to pass through the House of Commons.
• I have also been the Captain of the East Midlands for Region Wars, and have led the East Midlands to capture half of the country – unfortunately Region Wars was paused due to a lack of captains.

My Beliefs

• I am a Social Libertarian. This means I believe in the rights of the individual above those of the state (freedom of speech, etc) and that I believe in a regulated economy aimed not at maximising profit for big corporations but for keeping the standard of living for ordinary people as high as possible.
• I believe in a transparent government that doesn’t work behind people’s backs or aim to deceive them but instead is open with its policies and aims, keeping the population well informed about goings-on.
• I believe in a strong government that will do what’s best for the country, no matter the cost and will do all it can to benefit the citizens of the eUK.
• I believe in having a strong, well-organised and active military, a military with the support and involvement of every citizen of the eUK.
• I believe in having good relations with as many countries as possible and maintaining strong bonds with all of our allies.
• Most of all, I believe in a happy, well-educated population, with the everyday citizens of the eUK having fun and feeling secure.

Conclusion

I am massively grateful to the people of the East Midlands for electing me last month. I am also hopeful that you will consider me worthy to represent you in Parliament for a second month.

I won't make false promises to change how the country is run, or to make massive changes on a national scale, but I will promise you one thing: I will do my utmost to represent you in every way possible and if you are ever in need of help, I will be here for you.

I hope that together, we can make this month even better than last month.
