Day 1,051, 12:40 Published in Canada Albania by Roger Griswald

Todays highlights:
- Feature: New eNation Cyprus already causign struggle between its two giant eNations
- eWorld Country Presidential election results; an overview
- eBulgaria moving into a new region today: reaches agreement with eIran and eTurkey
- Wars all over the place since new military module launches: highlights of todays actions

Quote of the day:
“Alias Vision has no ties to scrubs like JB, and he knows far better than to be in league with an attention whore like that. This is absolutely pathetic - it's likely an attempt to garner another impeachment vote. But it won't work - good CP's don't get impeached.” - Dade Pendwyn

New eNations

As eRepublic continues to develop, the Admins have announced that they will be filling in some of the ominous grey space on the eWorld Map with some additional eNations. eNations the Admin have chosen to add in an update this week are Cyprus, Belarus, Republic of China (Taiwan), New Zealand, Montenegro, and the Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). Throughout the week Getty-Rable Basic Press will be featuring reactions from around the eWorld to the additions of these eNations.

Showcase: Cyprus

Cyprus is arguably the most unexpected addition to the eWorld of the six new eNations the Admin will be admitting this week. While Cyprus is not the smallest RL eNation (in population) the Admin has admitted (that honor goes to Montenegro), it only has about 700,000 RL citizens, and is located in a somewhat disconnected location in the eWorld.

The likely primary reason for the addition of eCyprus is the large Greek and Turkish populations that occupy the island. In fact for hundreds of years Greeks and Turks have battled (politically and militarily) for dominance on the island nation.

Cyprus is expected to have three bordering eNations, eGreece, eTurkey and eIsrael. As is already clear, two of those three are already vying for influence over the eNation (for more information see the eGreece section below in MOAR War). The tension between these two large eNations is certainly something that weighs on eCyprus’s third neighbour, eIsrael, whose former Country President Aeroner expressed that he wished the “best for Cyprus” and said that he “looked forward to positive relations between the two eNations”.

While Aeroner hoped that the new eNation would be able to stand on its own, he expressed concern that he tensions between eTurkey and eGreece, exposed eCyprus to a serious risk of military capture or PTO.

eWorld Country President Elections

Yesterday, Country President (CP) elections saw changes to administrations with a couple of eNations breaking long standing PTOs. All in all it appears that the Pheonix PTO machines led by eSerbia and eIndonesia are starting to break down. The most likely cause of this is the fact that the Admin is actually starting to put road-blocks in place to prevent multis and illegal votes.

Below is an overview of CP elections around the eWorl😛

eAustralia : Not PTOe😛 eAustralia for the second election in row, narrowly held off an eIndonesian PTO attempt of their CP, with Wally Wilson winning the election by less than 1% of the vote (or 5 votes on 585).

eBolivia: Not PTOe😛 talomedina of the Bolivia Unida Party faced no real opposition as the expected eArgentinean PTO never materialised.

eBosnia and Herzegovina : PTOe😛 falhofnir of the Demokratska Stranka Srpske (eSerbian led PTO) secured the CP winning 54% of the vote.

eDenmark: Not PTOe😛 hurkancs of the Great Two Fish Ovens [Party] held of a PTO attempt, securing 60% of the vote.

eMalaysia: Not PTOe😛 nicholas2000 of the Pakatan Rakyat Party, were successful in breaking the long standing eIndonesian/eSerbian PTO of the eNation, winning 58% of the vote. The break of the CP PTO is added to the eNations success in winning over 50% of their congress in the last elections, thus for the first time in Months, eMalaysia is free from the Phoenix PTO.

ePeru: complicate😛 T-Sic of the Demi Lovato Party was successful in blocking the ePoland led PTO that has been in control of the eNation for months, however the victory means that the ePolish PTO is now replaced with an eArgentinean led PTO, however the ePeru Congress is still controlled by the ePolish PTO.

eThailand: PTOe😛 with almost no attempt to break the eIndonesian led PTO, two competing PTOers came in both first and second place.

eSouth Africa : PTOe😛 The eHungarian led Progressive Party of South Africa held onto its PTO of the eNation securing 59% of the vote in yesterdays CP election.

eBulgaria

Today, eBulgaria started region-swapping through eIran and eTurkey with the goal for renting a high-grain resource, which eBulgaria lost access to last month after the eSerbian led PTO attempt of eBosnia and Herzegovina (eBiH) CP failed last month. Following the ATO victory, the then CP Amir M successfully led resistance wars removing eBulgaria from their regions.

Throughout the last month eBulgaria has been in negotiations with its neighbors in an attempt to find a high-grain region to rent. The deal with eIran and eTurkey, should provide eBulgaria with the resource with little chance of problems from the other two eNations, but will cost eBulgaria significantly more than their previously risky deal with eBiH.

MOAR War

Since the launch of the new military module, a barrage of battles have broken out across the eWorld, so many in fact I cannot cover them all, as such from now on I will be highlighting a few battles each day. Below is a brief overview of conflicts of interest today:

ePoland attacked the eRussian capital region of Kaliningrad, eRussia. The attack follows the crippling losses of eRussia’s eastern regions to EDEN/Brolliance in August. Should ePoland’s attack be successful, eRussia would loose yet another high-resource region (grain) along with their foot-hold in central Europe. With ePoland’s success in Lithuania recently, the eNation currently controls all of the border regions to Kaliningrad.

eUSA is fighting yet another resistance war that has been launched by eRussia in a bid to regain their resource rich region of Far Eastern Russia.

eGreece attacked the eTurkish region of Mediterranean Coast of Turkey. The attack comes just a day ahead of the official addition of Cyprus to the eWorld. The region of Mediterranean Coast of Turkey is the only eTurkish region that will border the newly added eNation. Read more about the ongoing issues with eCyprus above.

eAustralia is once again leading resistance wars in a variety of its currently eIndonesian occupied regions. For a complete list visit: http://www.erepublik.com/en/wars/show/2848
