Another New Era

Day 960, 08:35 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Lee David Wood

Here we are yet again, election day has come and gone, and the eUK shall rest peacefully in the knowledge that it shall wake up to a bright new future come tomorrow.

Iain Keers has secured victory in the General Election, receiving a total of 370 votes, against Glados who received 344 votes. Yet again, another election victory to The Unity Party, and one more step ahead for the progressive left.

Now there seems to be much discussion over his appointment into office, mainly covering the immeasurable fact that he is quite 'new' to the job of Prime Minister (according to his political challengers), and that we shouldn't really put the important job of V2 to an 'inexperienced' public servant, which begs me to ask the question, "So what?".

Since when did inexperience stop previous Prime Ministers from doing what was necessary to ensure the safety, prosperity, and growth of our nation? Since when did inexperience stop previous Prime Ministers from turning the tide when our nation was on its' knees during countless invasions in our past? Since when did inexperience stop previous Prime Ministers to rise above party ideologies, and to serve this country according to the very mandate they were given to govern, in order to serve & represent those who elected him/her?

Are you really going to hold it against our newly-appointed leader, just because he maybe inexperienced in this role? His political career alone is rich with different positions within the eBritish government such as the Minister of Trade, Minister of Finance, not to mention assistant to the old Minister of Foreign Affairs; Squiddy.

Iain Keers has also served as Phoenix Treasurer for six months, and helped with the Phoenix Strategic Command for a total of eight months. He has also run for congress ten times, being successfully appointed as an MP for each time he has run for the position.

But those of you who have known Iain for a long-time now should all know this...

It doesn't matter who wins this contested election, what really matters is, whoever wins the election today; the other party leaders/candidates should get behind the new Prime Minister and work together to get this nation back on its' feet ready for V2, heading into the brave new world united by our goals & determined to see this through as the eUnited Kingdom.

If we truly care about this country, and to see it prosper, let's unite our efforts for once and stop the political point-scoring. We can either continue like this, bickering over petty discussions, or we could stop running this nation into the ground, and start running this country properly.

It is a time for unity, not division. This is supposed to be the eUnited Kingdom, let's start acting like it...
