Day 552, 20:17 Published in USA USA by Kait Raitz

i have placed my name in the running for the green party president. i'm very new to this site still and i have a lot to figure out, but my hope is, if i win, to make the green party a more prominent voice in politics and decision making. so vote for me.
go green or die a slow, excruciating death. 🙂

for my inspirational quote(s) of the day i have chosen excerpts from past miss america pageants. i want to prove once and for all that they are NOT "beauty" pageants. they are not mere dog shows where the contestants get judged on the perfection, or lack there of, of their bodies. no, my dear friends, they are scholars. with real ideas. take miss south carolina teen lauren caitlin upton who was asked why 1/5th of americans can't locate the U.S on a world map:
"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, um, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq and everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future."
or miss alabama upon being asked if she could live forever, would she and why:
"I would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever."
indeed, the roots of this patriotic competition lie not in looks, fake boobs, caked on make-up, or tiny bikinis, but well researched ideas and thoroughly schooled minds. yes, they are the futures of america. it makes me wonder, was george bush a pageant queen in a past life? think about it.

have a nice day/night, wherever you are. 🙂
