Inspiration For "Kill la Kill" Ending Identified By Fans

There are many things (and assets) that are grabbing fans attention in Kill la Kill, but the ending theme in Gomen ne, Iiko Jya Irarenai. (Sorry, I can't Be A Good Girl Any Longer) is also stimulating the hearts of older fans for its retro melody and footage for a good reason! A fan in Japan identified the source of the video to be the theme of the J-drama Sukeban Deka (translation would be Delinquent Girl Detective from Wikipedia) in 1985.

Animation studio Trigger, who is responsible for Kill la Kill has stated numerous times in previous interviews that the anime is a tribute to media in the Showa period, citing classic Japanese anime such as Dokonjo Gaeru for talking clothing and Ryuko wearing a sailor uniform in the anime while the blazer became the school uniform of the majority in modern day Japan. The ending theme turned out to be another aspect of the show that is paying an homage to the Showa period as well.

Sukeban Deka is a J-drama based on a shojo manga by Wada Shinji and first made into a live-action drama in 1985, starring Saito Yuki as you see in the image above. "YuruYuri" Author Celebrates Invention of the Light Bulb

Perhaps auditioning for some Google Doodle work, YuruYuri manga author Namori Tweeted a special Akarin illustration to commemorate the 134th anniversary of the day that Thomas Edison's electric incandescent light bulb, using a filament of carbonized thread, burned for a continuous thirteen-and-a-half hours.

Japan's Lamp Manufacturers and Electrical associations have named October 21st the "Day of Light" to honor the achievement and use the occasion to promote energy conservation.

Given that GJ Club ends with a graduation, fans have been wondering what the follow-up project would be doing. Well, looks like an answer has been provided. Leading to last weekend's promotion with the Chikara Meshi ("Power Food") restaurants, a teaser has begun hyping the group's overseas trip to NY.

"Attack on Titan" Opening Recreated with Cats

Thanks to the effort taken to herd a cat and a DIY blue-screen, one particularly dedicated fan has created their own feline version of Attack on Titan's phenomenal opening. The parody even has its own lyric subtitles like “run away from my wife, who wants to give you a bath,” and “I’m hungry, so I’ll have stew for dinner!”

Xbox One Won't Support Third Party Headsets Until Next Year

If you were hoping to pair up your Xbox One purchase with some fancy headgear, you'll have to wait until next year. Microsoft recently confirmed a statement saying that the Xbox One Headset Adapter, which allows for third party support, won't be available until early 2014.

While players wait to upgrade to gear like Turtle Beach's XO Ear Force line, they'll have to make do with the included mono headset. At least it's a pack-in now, after originally being announced as a separately-sold accessory.

In the meantime, Microsoft plans to work with its partners to "create new headsets that will take full advantage of the Xbox One technology." The console launches on November 22.
