"Tales of Bibliotheca" and "Tales of Link" Trailers Debut

Namco Bandai has a pair of smartphone Tales of games coming up, and they're both quite different from one another. Tales of Link offers up a fresh story, while Tales of Bibliotheca sums up sagas past with original battles thrown in for good measure. You can see both in action thanks to the recently released trailers below.

Tales of Link's story centers on the young swordsman Shiza and the adventurer Sara, who are on a quest to seal the Seed of Disaster. As Siliconera notes, characters from previous Tales of games appear to be showing their faces, as well, including Asbel from Tales of Graces f and Judith from Tales of Vesperia.

Tales of Bibliotheca is a collection of Tales of stories put together by The World Ends with You developer Jupiter. The first of 12 chapters covers Tales of Vesperia, with that and the subsequent chapters set to include story summaries and illustration from their respective games. The event scenes contain their original voice acting, and the iOS game will also feature original battles.

Latest Publicity Shots From Live-Action "Black Butler"

With the movie filmed and ready to premiere on January 18, 2014, a new set of publicity photos offer a look at the main and supporting cast for the live-action movie spin-off of Yana Toboso's Black Butler manga.

In a story set 130 years after the manga/anime (2020 specifically), Ayame Goriki plays the heir of the Phantomhive family legacy, an original character must assume a male identity to maintain the position.

Hiro Mizushima went down to 110 pounds (50kg) to capture the sharp features of the character from Yana Toboso's manga in his return to acting after a three year hiatus in the role of the titular demonic servant.

Kentaro Otani (live action NANA) and Keiichi Satou (Tiger & Bunny) will be co-directing the picture.

Unconventional PS Vita RPG "Criminal Girls Invitation" Previewed

Here's an interesting concept married to some iffy gender politics. Originally released for the PSP, Criminal Girls, developed by Image Epoch and published by Nippon Ichi Software, presents a party of female convicts only take your commands as suggestions, so you must punish them to correct their vices as they escape towards reincarnation. Its new "Invitation" Vita port, coming November 28th, has a new story episode, two new characters and a mature rating.

The game's punishment system, involving smacking, tickling, smearing oils, embarrassing clothes and stripping down to undergarments and stockings, will be taking advantage of the Vita's touch screen - if you go to the official site, and click on the button on the top right, you can practice punishing the girls - or if you select the rival warden, she punishes you.

"Dragon Quest," "Final Fantasy," and "Tales" Crossover Discussed by Producers

When it comes to video game crossovers, RPGs tend to stay in their own individual worlds, not counting company-wide all-star titles like Dissidia or the Fortune Street games. In an interview in this month's issue of V Jump, three movers and shakers of the JRPG world talked about the possibility of a triple-threat crossover featuring Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and the Tales series!

Hideo Baba (Tales producer): "If you can do it, then by all means!"

Yosuke Saito (Dragon Quest producer): "Shall we? We can start right away."

Baba: "How about [Dragonball/Dragon Quest's Akira] Toriyama's first Tales game?

Shinji Hashimoto (Final Fantasy producer): "If Toriyama is okay with it, then we're okay with it. As long as we stay true to the world view, I think [Dragon Quest creator Yuji] Horii would be okay with it, too. How about Kosuke Fujishima (Tales character designer) draws for Final Fantasy, and Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts character designer) does Dragon Quest?

Baba: "I'm pretty sure Fujishima would do it."

Who cares about the game itself, I'm just excited at the possibility of seeing these different artists all taking on each others' creations! What do you think? Would you be interested in a Dragon Quest/Final Fantasy/Tales crossover? I'm holding out hope for a back-to-back badass moment with Zell, Jude, and a DQIX Monk taking on an army barehanded, but which characters would you want to see in a once-in-a-lifetime crossover like this?
