"Assassin's Creed IV" Explores Tech of a Next-Gen Open World

Anyone interested in the technical side of game creation should definitely have a look at Ubisoft's latest video for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. There's quite a bit going on here, so it's cool to see some of the details of building a "next-gen open world."

Assassin's Creed IV is set to arrive on pretty much every platform available on October 29. Next-gen versions hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when they launch.

First Animated Preview of "Sailor Moon" Director Junichi Sato's "Amazing Twins"

After a teaser and a glorified visual, we're now getting an animated look at Amazing Twins, the "new heroine" project from Junichi Sato, director on Sailor Moon, Aria and Magical Doremi, and creator of Kaleido Star and Princess Tutu. The 2014 OVA anime project features "foolish girl, saving the world" and you can see some of that "incomprehensible skill of human beings" and the new video from Shochiku.

"Pokémon X/Y" Trailer Shows Off Mega Mewtwo X and More

"Infinite Stratos: Long Vacation Edition" Commercial

Overlap, new publisher of the series' original light novels, has posted a commercial for Infinite Stratos' "Long Vacation Edition: The Memories of One Summer" OVA. The OVA, with 30 minutes of bonus footage, special CD and 28 page booklet will be hitting Japan on Blu-ray and DVD October 30th.

The anime also returns with a new TV series this fall. Yasuhito Kikuchi (Macross Frontier, Busou Shinki) is returning to direct for 8-Bit.

Infinite Stratos 2 sees Zone of the Enders' Kumi Horii joining the staff on character designs. Busou Shinki's CHOCO, AKA Kōichi Mugitani, joins Takeshi Takakura (Appleseed CG movies, Planetes) on mechanical designs, while Hikaru Nanase returns to score the anime. Returning cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Ichika Orimura, Yōko Hikasa as Houki Shinonono, Yukana as Cecilia Alcott, Asami Shimoda as Lin Yin Fang, Kana Hanazawa as Charles Dunois, and Marina Inoue as Laura Bodewig.

Otaku Name the Anime Cross-Overs They Most Want to See

Anime and manga does have a history of official cross-overs, from the Go Nagai movies (Mazinger Z versus Devilman and the like) to the recent Dream 9 Toriko & One Piece & Dragon Ball Z Super Collaboration Special to the upcoming, second Detective Conan versus Lupin III. In a trivial, but fun Biglobe Anime One poll, otaku were asked to name the cross-over that they most want to see.

Worth noting, conventionally in these meetings of anime series, "versus" means the two parties joining forces more often than it means an outright battle.

"Teekyū" Season 3 Anime Visual

The Mappa adaptation of insane tennis manga Teekyu returns for a third season October 6th, on the heels of summer's second. Shin Itagaki is still directing and writing, with the voice cast returning too.

Second Anime To Adapt "Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei"

Today's Japanese broadcast of the of the tenth and final episode of the Fate/kaleid liner Prismal Illya anime ended with the notice that an upcoming Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei will adapt the second stage of Hiroshi Hiroyama's magic girl manga spin-off the Fate modern fantasy franchise.

The 2wei manga introduces Illya's dark skinned doppelganger Kuro.
