And once again, we talk about the grain

It seems like the whole of eIsrael has been talking about the food and grain taxes lately well, here we go again. i am proposing today to raise the import tax on grain once again. not to the ridicules level it once was but to a more normal one, 35%.
we only have one natural resource in eIsrael, we cannot let outsiders push the eIsraeli companies out of the market.
i know people will say "well food companies can open an ORG abroad and buy cheap food there" but higher import taxes will make sure the the food companies that do not do that and buy in our market will buy domestic product, not foreign.
for that reason i call on all the congress members to vote YES on the new grain tax proposal.
vote YES for a domestic eIsrael economy.

Why do you work in land? You have high skill in manufacturing, I think it would be better for you to work in that area.
I voted no for this proposal, just like every other sane member of the Israeli congress should vote. I've outlined WHY this should happen in every other article about this subject. I don't feel like repeating myself.
Voted no, its like all what we discussed about didnt get even near you. there is not grain in israel, the people need cheaper food, leave the land industry for now.
Sadeh there is GRAIN in our country. It is half grain than other blessed countries, but we have some grain here 🙂.
Unlike the president, and the majority of the IWP I don't support forgetting about the grain sector, putting on land workers out of work and our companies out of business.
I think the tax that you proposed might be a bit prohibitively high however. I think the right answer is to remove all but 1% of income the tax on grain and having an import tax around 20%.
I will be forced to vote no here because it goes in the opposite extreme, but please consult next time so us like minded people can come up with a proper compromise. This way, we will be united against the anti-grain majority of the IWP at the very least.
Unfortunately, we aren't rich in resources. The Key to sucess is a good trading economy. Medium grain regions can't compete with high "Breadbasket" areas.
I have voted no on this proposal... I have written articles and countless newspaper posts on why.
I agree, we must vote no on this proposal. It can only do harm if it's passed.
@ Jeff Sulivan - 1% income tax on grain!?!?!?! A flat income tax, one thats 10% straight across the board makes sure that there is an even distribution of the work force. Taxs at 10% also insures that we are able to support necessary government spending, fund food/weapon reserves for war time needs, etc, etc, etc. No the IWP isn't against the grain industry, rather we're for the economic growth of industries that benefit our country on a whole.
There is a small minority of grain companies in our nation that continue to lobby for this, not in the best interest of our nation, but instead for their profit margins.
CHEAPER FOOD....LEAVE THE GRAIN/FOOD TAXS AS THEY ARE....SUPPORT OUR NATION NOT YOUR POCKETBOOK
I'm tired of hearing how bad the IWP is, this is a party made up of many free thinking independent people who agree on most issues and have bonded together not to oppress so called opposition parties, but to join together and work for a common cause......the continued improvement of our government, the needs of our citizens and to plan a bright future for our nation. Its well within your rights to question/dislike individuals, but for you to condem an entire party is ludicris to say the least!!!!

In case you haven`t noticed we only have one land based industry and it is going out of business thanks to the policies of which you have been one of the most vocal supporters. Not sure what your ``10`` across the board position means. You propose that along with your irresponsible position on import taxes that you double the income tax on grain, instead of doing all you can for it to succeed?
As far as the IWP goes...When we have an inactive IWP Congress, that doesn`t give us the benefit of telling us their position or explaining why they voted they way they did, you have the answer for why people don`t like the IWP. The IWP Congress are a silent majority that pass the will of the president without bothering to post, ever in such debates, even to be held accountable for how they voted. I am sure the IWP has free thinking, independent people, I know them. Unfortunately they are the vast minority.
