The Macedonia referred to here is the Republic of Macedonia/FYRoM introduced to the game, not the Greek region. If you disagree with the use of the name Macedonia for this country, live with it.
If you have any other complaints about the information in this article, comment on it critically instead of trolling.

The admins have unveiled 6 new countries to be introduced to eRepublik this October. Here we will look at each country and how it could affect eRepublik, and possible implications.
Montenegro
Cyprus
Macedonia/FYRoM
Taiwan (Republic of China)
Belarus
New Zealand

Montenegro

Possible Countries Affecte😛 Serbia
Probable Alliance: Phoenix

Montenegro is a small Balkan country on the Adriatic sea. It has a population of only around 672,000, making it one of the least populated countries in Europe. Montenegro only separated from Serbia as ‘Serbia and Montenegro’ in 2006, when both countries declared independence within two days of each other (Montenegro was first and declared independence after the referendum on the issue came out with 55.5% in favour of independence). It will be interesting to see how these two countries interact in the future. It is also possible that Serbia’s population will fall if Montenegrins living in Serbia decide to move to their own country.

Cyprus

Possible Countries Affecte😛 Greece, Turkey
Probable Alliance: Either

With a population of almost 800,000, this is also one of the smaller countries of Europe. The southern part is largely Greek and the North is Turkish. After an attempted coup by Greece, and years of intercommunal violence, Turkey invaded the North of the island. These days it is a divided country. However, Turkey are the only country in the world to recognise the country of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Were this country to be introduced to the game, it will probably lead to more conflicts over it between Greece and Turkey, two countries who are not unknown for their constant battles and feuds. Expect to see this island change hands constantly, especially if it becomes only one region (I’d suspect it would be divided up into Southern Cyprus and Northern Cyprus though).

Macedonia/FYRoM

Possible Countries Affecte😛 Greece, Bulgaria
Probably Alliance: Phoenix

Another new Balkan country introduced to the game. Macedonia has a population of over 2 million people, and was officially recognised as independent from Yugoslavia in 1993. It will be interesting to see how this other Balkan country will interact with its neighbours, especially Greece. But many Macedonians do not want to be recognised in eRepublik as FYRoM, which could cause issues when it is introduced officially. The admins have refused to be involved in these disputes over the name of the nation.

Taiwan (Republic of China)

Possible Countries Affecte😛 China
Probably Alliance: Phoenix (EDEN if invaded by China)

By far the most populated country introduced (just over 23,000,000 people), Taiwan is an island off the coast of China. It was freed from Japanese rule in 1945, but the Chinese government claimed Taiwan as Chinese territory and not as an independent state (even though they had no control over it). Contrary to the authoritative China, Taiwan is considered one of the freest countries in the world. It is probable that China will look to annex Taiwan (in eRepublik) as part of mainland China.

Belarus

Possible Countries Affecte😛 Russia
Probable Alliance: Phoenix

The largest of the European countries yet to be introduced, Belarus has a population of just under 10,000,000. In real life it is still is under the control of an authoritarian and secretive government. It became independent from the Soviet Union in 1991; but despite this it remains in strong relations with Russia. It is likely this new country will ally with Russia when introduced.

New Zealand

Possible Countries Affecte😛 Australia, USA, UK
Probable Alliance: EDEN

It is a little surprising the New Zealand has yet to be introduced, being the only main English speaking ‘western’ country left out. It has a population of around 4,400,000 and is the largest country to be introduced, at 268,021 km2. Many New Zealanders residing in English speaking countries such as the UK, USA and Australia will probably move to this new country. If it follows in the footsteps of its closest main neighbour, Australia, it will join EDEN. But this is probably the main country of the new 6 to look out for in the future. It could be quite influential in the eWorld and its decisions in the future.

Conclusion

Some of these countries will probably end up much more successful than others. I also find it interesting that Iceland have been left out, considering that the campaign to introduce them has been one of the largest. Belarus and New Zealand could play a large part in the future of the eWorld, whereas others like Taiwan and Cyprus would be the catalyst for future skirmishes. Either way, hold hope that the introduction of these nations will spice up the game.

That is all o/
