An Open Letter to the Maryland Candidates

Day 491, 04:12 Published in USA USA by John Wycliffe

Citizens of Maryland,
I was the incumbent in Maryland this election, but I had decided not to run for a fourth term in Congress. My time in game had decreased over time, and I haven't published an article since last elections. I hadn't been on the eUS forums since the new GoogleDocs voting form was introduced, and I hadn't even been very active on the USWP forums. I thought continuing to serve would be a disservice to the people of Maryland, but it seems I may have been a better choice if I had run.

There are three candidates for Congress in Maryland this election Sadam Hussien (Li😎 , Princess Mary (UIP), and Danytf (USWP). I typically don't have a problem with anyone running for Congress. If they've played the game long enough to do so, then so be it. However, in this situation, this is not the case.

Neither Princess Mary or Dannytf have presentations. The only qualifications any of the three candidates have if a previous Congressional term by Princess Mary. Normally, I wouldn't cite this as a problem because I first ran as a zero-experience candidate three months ago (and here, everyone has to at some point unless they were a mayor in beta), however, the lack of presentations in these candidates is not permissible.

Therefore, would I urge Maryland voters to vote for the single candidate that has a presentation, Sadam Hussien? No, and here's why:. Sadam attempted to run for the USWP for two Congressional elections (Feb. and Jan.) while I was incumbent for the party, showing interest in the seat and the USWP, supposedly. But now, he is running under the Libertarian banner. Where's the ideology or consistency? Why not the AAP or even try for the IUP? Why the LiBs? I'm sorry, sir, but that does not seem consistent at all, and does more damage to my vote than not having a presentation.

I don't mean to be too hard on the candidates, but whoever is elected needs to shape up and do the job well ... and do more than their presentations (or lack thereof) indicate. Good luck candidates, but get it together, please, for the people of Maryland.

I apologize, Maryland, for my ranting, and I assure you, that in some form I will be running for candidacy again next election to better serve you than I have, and I'll make sure to run a campaign worthy of the office.

Thank you,
