An Interview with Dishmcds

The men and women behind the oldest party in the eUK

Who are the faceless people running the UKRP, the oldest and largest party in the United Kingdom? Manifestos are published, promises made, achievements listed - yet very little we know about the great figures themselves. Continuing our hit series, this time we chose someone well known, someone equally loved and hated from the deep ranks of the UK Reform Party - Dishmcds.

Dishmcds, a two-time Prime Minister of the UK, former President of the United States of America and the current president of Mexico. Dishmcds began his life in the US, a country which population was barely 100 back then. He was selected as the first Secretary of Defence in the US and soon he became the President of the USA. Having served two terms as CP he stayed a while in the US and moved to UK in autumn 2008, helping the UK Reform Party back to its feet. In November 2008 he was elected as the Prime Minister in the UK and he ruled the UK for two terms. Nowadays dishmcds resides in Mexico, trying to help Mexico recover from the recent war against USA. Due to his large experience and his sometimes controversial viewpoints, we feel that dishmcds can give a fresh opinion on the current state of the UK Reform Party.

To give a face to an icon, I'll ask you a personal question. Now, besides listening to Tupac, what else do you do in your freetime?

- Besides the immense amount of time I spend on Erepublik, I have an 8 year old daughter I spend time with, as well as a wife and other family (2 Brothers, 1 Sister, and no, none of them share the same IP as me). My favorite sport is Basketball, so I play that occasionally and watch it on TV. Otherwise I spend a lot of time on the computer.

Now that time has passed - what did you hate most during your stay in UK? Why? Anything you want to reveal to us?

- Well, not really. I was always pretty open and honest about my time in the UK. I never liked the amount of criticism people leveled at me out of personal spite, but as much as anyone I realise that I do take a harsher viewpoint. People should realise that at least out of me, you're not going to get fluff, but instead a valid, straightforward opinion.

Otherwise, most of what I did is now public record. The UK did fairly well, albeit not perfectly when I was in charge, but there were a lot of people who I worked with that are just as responsible. I always felt the PM's job was moreso to be a people manager and decision maker, rather than the person in charge of running things.

Interesting point: Canada was actually the country responsible for initiating the idea of French Toast.

Looking at the recent discussion of the nobility and their slightly credulous arguments surrounding the controversy that is, what would be your expostulated response to the subject at hand?

- I think people, rather than making excuses, should simply stand up and take responsibility. The Armed Forces, being the good soldiers they are, stood up and took credit/criticism for their efforts, yet those who are higher up and ultimately in charge and responsible for it have not. I've been particularly harsh at Malta and Iain Keers both, but for specific reasons. I believe the TUP, as I have stated have moved towards a more drone-ish state, where Iain is responsible for making all decisions, and Malta has been merely an extension of that. I think with his meteoric rise to success, with the Presidency of the TUP, his newspaper, among other things, he's basically grown into the mentality that he knows better than anyone, and bullies anyone willing to stand up to him with big words or phrases.

Even if making a valid point, as I've pointed out several times, he comes back with the "Dish just dislikes me" excuse without responding to anything. If he'd stand up and admit he doesn't know everything, and does make the occasional mistake, I'm sure he'd be more personable and easier to deal with.

Looking at that, do you feel that anyone takes you seriously?

- Yes, I do. There are two types of players in Erepublik. Those who are serious, and have been around just long enough to know what they're talking about, and those who are here for lulz or to play Erepublik like a game. If no one took this seriously, no one would have Government. No one would have anything organised except a bunch of friends going "hey, let's invade Ireland". The UK would be dirt poor (which it's not, contrary to anyone else's statement, 3K Gold in the bank is NOT poor), and no one would give a rats ass about it.

People like me, who are willing to constantly stand up for what they think, on a serious note, is what makes Erepublik so interesting. It's a counterbalance that makes things tick. If people didnt take me seriously, how could I possibly get elected in three countries, over five months.

Time for a final question to cover it all: Coffee or tea?

- Tea. American. Unsweetened. /discussion

Again, thank you for this opportunity. Dishmcds has been a loyal citizen to the UK and an honoured member of the UK Reform Party for a long time. The interview series is nearing its end, the next statement comes from JerryGFL, the previous Prime Minister of the UK before malta_1990.
