An eRepublik app - Hell yeah.

Not my usual stuff but erep really needs something.

Often we, the citizens of erepublik, complain about a variety of issues; often coming up with numerous solutions. But often these solutions will not improve the state of erepublik labs, or increase their profit. But there is one thing which this game dearly needs both to maintain players and to boom if it wishes to do so, that is of course a mobile client..

Today most people have a smart phone, whether it is Android, BlackBerry, Nokia, Iphone and so on. It has become the one accessory everyone has to have; the one piece of technology you must have. And this boom of smart phones has meant that applications for various games have become ever popular. As long as it is in their App store, people will play it. And eRepublik needs to catch this wave!

By creating an eRepublik app, the game could first become more convenient for current players. But, more importantly it could reach out to a whole new audience, allowing the possibility of a baby boom like never before. As a South African, I know how popular the most unpopular things can become once they become an App. I’ve seen people waste hours on Poke’mon and Tetris, things from my childhood simply because they can play it on their phone. An eRepublik App could gain the same popularity and make it far easier to organize a baby boom. eRepublik is not as big as it could have been in incredibly developed countries like Japan, Germany and the United States because it can’t compete with more advanced games. But an App would open it up to competing with games on a similar technological level, on a platform which is not competing with Xbox, Playstation, Computer Games and the like.

An erepublik App could be the best opportunity for the game to boom and eclipse its V1 highs. Countries could have baby booms like never before, we could see the power in the game shift, and we could see new powers emerge, new alliances form. It could broaden the games market, and most importantly make erepublik profit. The more profit eRepublik makes, the more they can make changes which appease its citizens.

So Come on Alexis and George, here you have an opportunity to expand eRepublik, while improving the game experience for many of its players. More profit for you, more fun for me; it’s a win-win situation. So come on, where is my Symbiam eRepublik app; Where’s my friend’s BlackBerry eRepublik app; Where’s the Iphone app and why can’t I find a Android app!
