An Apology To eCanada

Day 1,571, 11:56 Published in Canada Canada by ultimate523

I'm not leaving. I haven't stolen anything. But I have made a mistake. One that has effected eCanada only negatively thus far. I wanted to right this wrong with a proposal to congress, but I've realised that some things can't, or more so shouldn't, be undone. If nothing else than to stick to what we've said, and to keep our word. I would like to thank Eric Last for helping me realise that. We need to stick by what we say.

To put things a little more in perspective, my mistake was not immoral, but rather foolish, and not well thought out. If you haven't guessed what it is, my mistake was voting "Yes" to pardon eCanada's best known thief, Rolo Tahmasee. Due to the pardon I cannot rightfully call him a criminal, but he remains a thief.

He's had 4 days to make a change, and so far all I've seen was a failed attempt at humour. Perhaps if it wasn't for that I would've said it hadn't been enough time to show that there could be change, but now I realise that even if there will be, it will be far less than I had hoped, and far less than eCanada needs.

We've lost some of our strongest, and in the past, most dedicated. Part of me had agreed with those saying that by not staying they were betraying eCanada, but I now see that was wrong. I know that when you put in time, and effort, again, and again, you want to see real results. Yes, some may have not been consistent enough, but Norsefire is equally guilty of holding back many newer people, and more guilty of not caring about the good of eCanada.

We don't need complete unity, but we don't need the pointless division we have now. Parties are meant to go against each other, and oppose each other on ideas, and values. But that's not what's been happening. Being part of a specific party seems to mean little to most who don't look back at the glory days, and who have good memories of them.

To all those who feel that they are unheard, please speak to me, and I will do my best to listen. I want to help make eCanada a good place to be. Not one filled with corrupt politics. I promise that I will stay as informed as I can. I want to make things better somehow. It took me longer to realise than most, but I have finally realised that you truly do need to take a side. Norsefire, or eCanada. I have chosen to work for eCanada. Perhaps this is too little too late, but I truly am sorry to those I represent. I understand if I am not elected into congress next term, assuming I run at all.

My apologies to all who have left indirectly because of me, and my mistake, or who faced any negative results from Rolo's pardon.

Hoping for your forgiveness,
