An Apology To eCanada
ultimate523
I'm not leaving. I haven't stolen anything. But I have made a mistake. One that has effected eCanada only negatively thus far. I wanted to right this wrong with a proposal to congress, but I've realised that some things can't, or more so shouldn't, be undone. If nothing else than to stick to what we've said, and to keep our word. I would like to thank Eric Last for helping me realise that. We need to stick by what we say.
To put things a little more in perspective, my mistake was not immoral, but rather foolish, and not well thought out. If you haven't guessed what it is, my mistake was voting "Yes" to pardon eCanada's best known thief, Rolo Tahmasee. Due to the pardon I cannot rightfully call him a criminal, but he remains a thief.
He's had 4 days to make a change, and so far all I've seen was a failed attempt at humour. Perhaps if it wasn't for that I would've said it hadn't been enough time to show that there could be change, but now I realise that even if there will be, it will be far less than I had hoped, and far less than eCanada needs.
We've lost some of our strongest, and in the past, most dedicated. Part of me had agreed with those saying that by not staying they were betraying eCanada, but I now see that was wrong. I know that when you put in time, and effort, again, and again, you want to see real results. Yes, some may have not been consistent enough, but Norsefire is equally guilty of holding back many newer people, and more guilty of not caring about the good of eCanada.
We don't need complete unity, but we don't need the pointless division we have now. Parties are meant to go against each other, and oppose each other on ideas, and values. But that's not what's been happening. Being part of a specific party seems to mean little to most who don't look back at the glory days, and who have good memories of them.
To all those who feel that they are unheard, please speak to me, and I will do my best to listen. I want to help make eCanada a good place to be. Not one filled with corrupt politics. I promise that I will stay as informed as I can. I want to make things better somehow. It took me longer to realise than most, but I have finally realised that you truly do need to take a side. Norsefire, or eCanada. I have chosen to work for eCanada. Perhaps this is too little too late, but I truly am sorry to those I represent. I understand if I am not elected into congress next term, assuming I run at all.
My apologies to all who have left indirectly because of me, and my mistake, or who faced any negative results from Rolo's pardon.
Hoping for your forgiveness,
Ultimate523

"He's had 4 days to make a change, and so far all I've seen was a failed attempt at humour."
And what exactly were you expecting to see change?
In other words, I don't get how you all of a sudden came to this great epiphany?
Just an attempt to do something positive, Wally. Nothing specific caused it. I just started thinking about things, talked to some people, and this is what stuck.
And give some examples of 'something positive'. And be realistic please.
Being more generous to people without expecting something in return considering the ridiculously large amount of tanks he has. Especially new/weaker people. He could help the country, but he chooses not to.
I see the weight of expectation on me personally to effect anothers game play remains...
to quote Gladiator "Are you not entertained?"
It I really think that this type of thinking proves my theory that many peeps in eCanada needed something to hate. Now that I have "simmered down" and ended my threatenous ways, so called "righteous" players find no reason to stay in eCanada now that they have no one to throw their stones at...
I'm sorry that I was not single handedly able to make your and every one else's game play rise to levels of orgasmic delight in the last what..... 4 DAYS?
What eCanada needs is a little less hate, What side are you on?
-clap- took a lot of guts.
"I see the weight of expectation on me personally to effect anothers game play remains..."
If you said you'd start two clicking, or something along those lines I'd respect that, but you've chosen to be in the spotlight as much as possible, and have made no obvious claim otherwise. Use common sense.

You've given no proof of ending anything. People still assume your scum, and will until proven otherwise. Humans judge by experience.
"I'm sorry that I was not single handedly able to make your and every one else's game play rise to levels of orgasmic delight in the last what..... 4 DAYS?"
I wasn't expecting you to do that. I just regret voting "Yes" for your pardon.
"What eCanada needs is a little less hate, What side are you on?"
I agree completely. But if you truly believe it, why don't you act on it? You're just as much of a hypocrite as so many of the people you complain about. As for what side I'm on, it's not with Norsefire, I know that much.
Thank you, Zianni.
Right now, I got to agree that it's a little early to draw conclusion. Those who left were already disappointed by the current state of our roleplay. And I mostly agree with them that it has been way better in the past. The difference with those who decide to stay and those who quit is that the first one thought that a pardon for Rolo is a good thing, the other think that it can only get worse.
I'm eager to see what will happen on the 15th. This will be a real test. We will see who were right soon.

Telling someone to "go back to Romania"? Seems a little harsh
😁^ - Ya, but that sweeta - A eCanada forum Congressional troll if there ever was one....
I'm not alone in that opinion of sweeta either
"I'm not alone in that opinion of sweeta either "
Glad to see you rationalize that your actions are okay, just because you're not the only one.
Is it that hard to NOT insult someone you disagree with?
I'm not aware of the negotiations leading up to the pardon, yet I'll simply guess there were none. Hope I'm wrong, but even if I'm not, the difference will end up being minimal anyhow.
There were never any conditions to his pardon.
Pardons are always unconditional when passed and can't be retroactively reversed.
Go back to Romania was not an insult, just a suggestion...
people seem awfully sensitive these days....
At lease Rolo always stands with eCanada on the battle field unlike the Butthurt Brigade. Who is the true eCanadian hero and patriot?
Good post U523. Some of us get it. Never mind the trolls, they are not engaging in true discussion with you.
@E😨 Please explain "always" to me. Since English is only my second language you might forgive my foolishness. Until i read your post i did not know that "always" means "for a long time", or "the last couple of months". For me it has something infinitive [is that a real word in any language?] to it. My definition collides with your description of Rolos battle history.
Whats so hard to understand Pain?
i have never tanked against eCanada - If you think I have, you are thinking of 1ronman
Have I picked up a cheap BH medal on the foreign side? - yes, Have I done 25 kills against eCanada for a Merc Medal? - yes - Have I ever tanked against Canada to the point of swaying the result of a battle? - No, Not once, Never
I actually see players who choose to "show us" by tanking against eCanada as sort of pathetic - The results are tremendously short term, and the damage is undone rather easily
Its the sort of knee jerk reaction you see from children who dont get their way
@Rolo: As is the PTO of several political parties through the use of bribery towards new, uninformed players?
Bribery with stolen funds none the less.
The players on my voters list aren't as new and uninformed as you think....
"Go back to Romania was not an insult, just a suggestion...

Chill out, I'm not so sensitive as you think. I will leave eCanada when I'll want. Unfortunatelly for you, you can't do anything about this. And you can say this all day long, because I really don't care (just in case you didn't noticed yet)
