Alliances, Shmalliances
Prinz von Panzer
Hello, eCanadians. We've been hearing lots of chatter about change in the alliances of the world and lately it has become more and more obvious. New alliances are made, others are broken as laws fly around.
Alliances were also the main issue for eRomanian newsman and MU Commander Clopoyaur during his eRepublik stream. ( http://www.twitch.tv/clopoyaur )
Many scenarios were put into place, based on traditional enemies and friends, although there were many voices saying very different things. Such as :
Many things still undecided, as Argentina, Greece and Romania are still shaky. I'm not an experienced political or military analyst but I tried to listen and take in as much as I could. The two alliances in question are formed around TWO's powerhouses : Serbia + Hungary (SerbHun) and Spain + Poland (Spoland).
As you can see there's a well defined place for us in the new world order and on the stream it was admitted that Asgard is the only true brotherhood in the game.
Cant wait to see what happens 😃

P.S. British girls ?

"...it was admitted that Asgard is the only true brotherhood in the game."
Truest words ever spoken and we f*cked them off in order to try and suck up to the US and be their lapdog. That worked out well, didn't it?
Actually we left them for more reasons as well. We still work with them as though we're still in Asgard though, allies are allies for Canada o7
The amount of people who actually gave two shits about the other Asgard countries is about equal to the amount of shits from earlier in this sentence.
As a semi-active non-IRC user I saw absolutely nothing from those countries' players except for Sweden saying that they were thinking about leaving it too and the occasional soldier fighting for a RW we never won. I honestly have no idea where this notion of brotherhood with Canada came from.
There was plenty coming from the other countries, the alliance as a whole and from myself and my cabinet. The problem was that people who don't like Rylde saw Asgard as being Rylde's baby and their complaining drowned out anything positive that was happening.
Making things fail before they have a chance to get going is a Canadian speciality 😛
Plenty of damage? I'm sure they did their best (sometimes, when they weren't busy doing their own thing - a lack of coordination in a four member alliance also didn't do it any favours), as did many others.
The real problem - at least for me - is that a four member alliance doesn't have the clout to ensure that its members stay on the map and the other countries didn't want to expand into usefulness.
It took us months for us to reach this conclusion, plenty of time to see if it was worthwhile. If it had truly felt like a brotherhood, the way that people still reminisce about the Brolliance, then we never would have left. It wasn't just a one night stand type of a thing. We were in the alliance for - by eRep standards - a long time and I'm far from the only one who just wasn't feeling it.
Meh, I remember part of the problem was their rejection of our eNL bros
