ALL Hate is Actually Fear

I don’t believe in hate… I don’t think it truly exists in reality. Hate is simply a mask for fear. We all have fears and how they manifest is different in every person. You tell me any concept of hate in the comments below and I will tell you how and why they are actually JUST FEAR.

I don’t believe in evil either… I don’t think it truly exists in reality. Evil is always fear based. Go ahead, challenge me in the comments below.

We all inherited these fears from our primate ancestors. They were relevant for them since pre-history. The instinct of fear is necessary for survival in the animal kingdom. The problem is that the human race has carried these prehensile instincts into the current day. Now their function has become a crippling disease that threatens the very survival of our species.

We have progressed in many ways since the days of our primate ancestors. We have developed speech, rational thought, self-examination, science etc. Yet still we carry this xenophobic fear of “others”. This is discrimination at its core… a self-defeating and irrational fear that threatens our very future! We have isolated ourselves within groups based on color, race, sex, religion and nationality just to name a few. These are the means by which we threaten to destroy the planet. There is no future in this kind of thinking. We are all in peril because of discrimination.

How can we change this dire future? By using rational thought to advance beyond our basic instincts. They no longer serve any purpose, in fact, they are very likely to destroy us.

It is up to all of us to rethink what we pass on to future generations. I’m not saying that this will be easy. It well may be the most difficult hurdle that humanity faces. Rethink what you have been taught and how it nurtures our fears. Here is a simple example: my mother lost a cousin when he drowned in an undercurrent at the beach. She has been afraid of swimming ever since and she has unintentionally perpetrated these fears into her children. The fear is irrational, in fact, knowing how to swim could save our own lives someday. Personally, I have overcome this fear but my sister has not. Moreover, my sister has unintentionally passed these fears to her children. Discrimination is exactly that… nonsensical and self-defeating thoughts that have been placed in our heads. We certainly have the intellect and the will to overcome these fears… our very existence depends on us overcoming these fears.

Discrimination is fear. Are we intelligent enough to overcome this fear? My view of humanity is optimistic.

I believe we can.

Thank you,

Uncle Rican
