In politics, Alain Bates was yesterday elected President of The Unity Paty with a clear margin of 22 votes, 17 votes ahead of his nearest rival, Hassan Pesaran, who managed to scrape just 5. The election came after the previous President, CBall, decided not to seek re-election for personal reasons. We wish Mr Bates the best of luck in promoting The Unity Party, in view of the UK's upcoming general election, in 21 days.
