Hey there folks,
Maybe some of you noticed that we had a little trouble concerning the President, the Swiss Guard and our National Bank. It nearly turned out to total war inside our pretty new reborn country with all that it needs: Impeachment, leaving country, etc.. BUT: Most of the stuff is gone by now. I don´t hear mean words in comments nor there are any new posts in the official parts of the forum. So, dear reader, storm´s over, some waves remain and there´s something at the horizon. We´re going to elect our new president soon!
Don´t you dare to go away!!! Once again our beautiful country needs dedicated players like you, dear reader! This time it´s going to be a real election!

AAAAAAAAAAAND HERE THEY ARE!!! THE NOMINEES FOR OUR UPCOMING ELECTION...
First there´s Berengar. A guy, who I really don´t know too much. But I must say: He´s been one of the oldest players here. When I started playing he was Swiss and now he´s back. And again Swiss! You won´t bet on the wrong horse from my point of view when election day comes and you´re still undecided whom to vote for.
Then there´s F4uc0n. Yes! He´s really a dedicated player. Honestly, we´re just a little bunch of guys trying to do the best for this country. And always, and I mean it, he´s somewhere involved. Can´t tell that you havn´t heard of him, don´t you?
Last but not least there´s Giuliano Barbisan. A pretty young player (lvl 20 atm) and honestly I havn´t heard of him ´till I took a look at the candidacy list today! Well, maybe this will change? I bet! Somehow he´s aiming for president and needs to explain himself

All of them belong to different political parties, and if you, my faithful reader, want to know more about them, please feel free to post your question(s) in the comment section, so we all could have a laugh.. eh, I mean some more informations from our former presidents!

I want to see Switzerland in there, soon. As for the cheapest products and best job offers. How we get there? First lower import taxes. Second lower VATs. MY proposal tomorrow will be 5% Import taxes and 2% VATs. Then spread the word that the whole world can flood our market!!! Everyone comes along to sell and buy cheap goods. Even if our own economy will go down in the first place, it will fill up our country´s bank account with gold! ´Cause CHF will be needed

well i'm not sure it's really good idea.See the problem is, that we want Swiss to pay as little tax as possible,and that's a good thing. On the other hand lowering the import tax is lowering their profits too. Being in a disadvantage with raw materials it'd be crucial to use some kind of protectionist policies regarding our import/export balance.
it'd be good to have a brainstorming about this whole taxation thing in the forums with some economic experts involved (I'm not one of them).
Also country balance is pretty good in a sense that it'd be enough to finance about 20RWs. Also given the IG circumstances and game mechanics it's pointless for us to collect too much money, as the redistribution of wealth is at a low level. (We don't pay really for anything, just keeping our golds in the bank like leprachauns or what 🙂 )
and I also don't support simply buying weps and giving away to the ones in need, but I'll explicate my views on that in the forums if anyone's interested 🙂

As I were PP for the first time, I wanted to see how we choosed a candidate and set myself but didn't intend to run at all. Then Luka supported my candidacy and it ended up with me, PP of the SRC, official candidate of the SFP. : P

Personally, I'm backing Berengar. and Penguin my flightless friend, he is smart (very smart), loyal, dedicated, honest, fair and hard working. I recommend that you (and all citizens get to know him).
What is tres important right now is diplomacy, as you all know... and Berengar is a diplomatic genius.... True story !
Ok, we don´t really have an economy. And thx to Plato everyone is able to support oneself. Furthermore we don´t have training wars. Conclusion: Work in Switzerland? Maybe! Definitly stay in an other country if you wanna train. And start buying cheap food and weapons for war. With CHF. Result: We desperately need gold for MPPs. This is more than urgent. So accept the law proposals and, (former) president, start making MPPs asap! What we´ve got is worth nothing if taken away in a blink of an eye. This needs to be prevented NOW!!! We can rechange the laws later. And if we have a majority of traders here, maybe the will intervene when it may come to war. .. Cause we´re a good place for trading. Get it done!

Training war yes, MPP for protection NO (unless if we have 10 of them and we won't).

Without protection we´ll soon be overrun again. At least a peace treaty with our neighbours. They are the nations with the most players...
Sorry Berengar, ran out of proposals ; - ) But I try to the best way I can.
And furthermore, I put my cards on you Berengar, that you´ll become our next president and solve these threats. But what you´ll need is, next to money, a reason for foreigners to support us. From my pov a "free trade market" is one. A pretty good one.
They are the most powerfull nations and that's the reason why it's useless to sign defensive MMPs. If they want to wipe us, they'll do it. Not matter how hard we try.
Diplomacy is the best tool we have to protect peace.
I have to agree with F4. _if_ we'd sign MPPs with neighbouring countries it would not be because we could feel safer, but that they most probably will give us an opportunity for daily train wars.
Other than that I have to express my deepes disappointment with the congress for the lack of discussion about the taxation. has anyone thought about the effects if prices fall drastically because of import? profit of swiss players might decrease, wages might decrease, and ultimately swiss players might leave the country to work abroad. and i see no guarantees they will change their salary to CHF to buy Swiss...
