Perhaps the time has come to give this another go. The last 6-7 months I have been rather disappointed in the gov't of Canada. With the exception of Sperry the elected gov't of Canada has been plagued. High taxes, rampant overspending, poor ally relations, general disregard.
Therefore I think it's time to toss my hat into the CP race once again. I do not however intend to do this alone and for no reason. I'm going to chose my cabinet in a different way this time. If anyone wishes to join me please send me a PM and I will look at the applicants based on a few criteria. Activity, experience, potential and willingness to move forward from this experience and become a leader themselves.
To be clearer on a couple things experience and potential I will count equally, one will not overshadow the other. Activity will also be important, I want an interactive group not slackers.
I will follow this up with policy articles later but for now I'd like to start an interview process to see who's interested.

So you would encourage congress to lower taxes thus cutting MU funding even further?
Didn't say that however I believe in a balanced budget not a tax and spend insane policy.

I coulda done that in CPF, I never decided to run until this morning. I'm not done in MAP yet, have I nominated myself, no. You haven't seen how I will handle CP nominations yet. Damien will hold the spot until nominations are done. I am disappointed by your lack of faith.

You said in your first paragraph that eCanada is plagued with high taxes which led me to the conclusion that you want them lowered which would lower MU funding
High taxes were a result of overfunding without compensating in wartime. We had low taxes with huge spending that killed all surpluses. You can't tell me that's smart. The budget has finally becvome semi-reasonable again not thanks to persons like you crisfire, who though raising taxes more to keep overfunding MUs was a good idea. I will not stand for such tactics without very good reason, |I think taxes are at a max right now. I'm willing to look at other ways to lower costs so this isn't continued.

the problem is you can't raise VAT forever there is a limit to taxes. If you raise to the max now what do you do in a real emergency with nowhere to go?
Ive never supported "overfunding" MU's if thats even possible, even when we were burning through the surplus during the time when eCanada was occupied, which we had becuase I proposed a VAT at 25% and passed, that still wasnt enough to provide people with enough Q5 tanks and food to fight the most they can.
Its not only a game, but a race and the race is to see which country can keep an active population ranking up the fastest, to keep pace with the other countries so that we can at the very least help out our allies and make the biggest difference we can.
Remember that not all people started this game 2 or 3 years ago and have the wealth, strength or knowledge this game requires, some are staeting out and are yet to begin, strong MU's that provide the most they can are the best way we have to retain and rank newer players up quickly.
People need to stop playing this game as if there is ever a "peacetime" cuase thats just dumb and counter productive.

Im not advocating a higher tax, the recent propsal i made was to switch to an all VAT tax as it brings in more than income.
When your ship is sinking that isnt the time to look for a bucket to bail the ship out, you prepare for emergencies, lowering taxes is not preparing for emergencies.
MU's are the best player retention tools in this game, be it the CAF , TCO, HOPE,COI, etc. reducing their efficiency would only result in a loss of activity.
