Advice about the Market Turmoil

Day 1,537, 17:13 Published in Canada Canada by Gherk

With all the changes in the past few days, I thought it might be a good time to remind everyone about the three rules to improve your roleplay health and wellness.

Rule 1: You only matter if you buy Gold

In V2 the admins removed the wall in the war module with a grid based war module. It was not well received (people bought less gold) so the admins changed back to the wall except they turned it 90 degrees and called it a bar. More recently, the admins added bazookas to the war module. The reviews were mixed, but people bought more gold, so the feature continues to exist in game.

Recommended Action:

If you don't like a change, all you can do is stop buying gold. Everyone else just needs to ride the panic wave until the next apocalypse and Keep Calm / Carry On.

Rule 2: There is no such thing as an eRepublik Expert

If you have real life knowledge in economics, politics, or war tactics - it doesn't really apply. The admins change the rules for the universe so often that when you think you know what is happening, it will change.

Recommended Action:

We all read and write about what we believe is the best / optimal way to play the game, but in reality none of us really know what we are talking about. When a change comes down, you can panic and sell all your companies, or you can Keep Calm / Carry On.

Rule 3: Roleplay Alignment comes in both Good and Evil

Like it or not, this is a roleplaying game.

Recommended Action:

You can roleplay in-game as a manager or tank. You can roleplay off-game as a member of congress or cabinet. In both cases, you can play the good card, the evil one, or something in between.

Everyone has a different reason for playing the game so Keep Calm / Carry On
