Above the Belt: An Article on Clean Electioneering

Day 299, 20:30 Published in USA USA by Ian John Locke IV

Well let me first let me address your first issue or concern with this title, electioneering is an actual word. Look it up on Dictionary dot com or wherever.

Secondly, this is in response to chimichonga barbosa's request for a clean contest between the candidates for mayor of Trenton.

Chimichonga seemed to think that my previous article was a bit below the belt by begging the question of where he got all his subscribers before even writing his first article. Of course it is a legitimate question but as he explained, he had previously owned a newspaper with 22 subscribers and had made them aware of his new newspaper. A legitimate cause and I feel compelled to rid him of any rumor of him using his party to seem important.

So far I have read nor written any articles, which seemed (in my opinion) overly zealous or combative or even attacking unfairly. Most of the messages I have sent have been about urging the citizens of Trenton to vote and before voting to research all the candidates, not just their party's.

If that is unfair, I apologize.

I had also called for a clean campaign when I wrote my platform article. Let me reiterate: I will not implement any personal attacks when discussing my competitors for the office of mayor of Trenton. I expect them to follow the same example in respect to me.

I also implore you, the outsiders to fiercely reply and make it known that the article is defamatory.

So to all, a good campaign.
