Day 1,660, 08:15 Published in Canada Canada by Christian Doe

First of all, below is sweeta's explanation for the "dual" EPIC nomination in yesterday's election:

"A few minutes after his resignation from EPIC I have nominate him as CP candidate, without asking him why he resigned. After this he explain me a little his option, but the game don't allow to erase the candidate, just to change it. So, then he tell me to choose Christian as candidate."

Trust me, I never intended to run for CP seriously. Work and family already prevent me from even being as active as I want in Congress. It was a lol move, a rather unusual action for me you will agree. My campaign goals included a 4% increase (a reference to the vacation pay at layoff, something I thought I would get some time ago) and the conquest of Cork (which looks like a nasty word, insert Beavis and Butthead laughter sound cue). I never published any campaign article (or any article at all for that matter). I know that was all silly, but I've been tired because of work recently.

When I logged on halfway through the day I realized that many EPIC members were voting for the party and ignoring who should have been our candidate in the first place. I changed my avatar to redirect those votes to Nosyt in the hope of not being remembered as the guy "who ruined Nosyt's election", to quote a friend on IRC. I was planning to change it back as soon as Nosyt gained the lead, but the two candidates remained tied all afternoon and evening. Seeing all the attention the race got and the excitement it generated, I decided to play the game of thrones a little longer. Eventually I changed it around 1:30 AM after my daughter woke me up and couldn't get back to sleep. Nosyt had a one vote lead back then, I decided to let what is left of democracy in this game decide who the winner should be. If my intervention offended anyone, I'm truly sorry about it.

Nosy proved that he could almost win a CP election even without 100+ EPIC votes. Rylde proved that hard work and persistence pay off in the long run. All in all, I think I'm quite happy with the results.
