A Word on MUs

Day 1,719, 09:38 Published in Ireland Ireland by Gerald Smyth

Welcome to the mind of Gerald "Greg" Smyth...

First, what's up with the MUs? There seems to be a change going on here. The old is crumbling and the new is coming in. ICA has switched Commanders like there's no tomorrow from ibhoy to Padraig to Ethel to sawc, I think I'm missing one or two? (please correct me if I'm wrong) Plus various influential members leaving in drones like MUFC92, Ethel, Stilpo, ChewChewShoe and even I former ICA Captain Gerald Smyth.

ICA seems to be suffering the most, mostly due to the lack of organized leadership and the rising of new MUs. This has pushed ICA to Number Two in most damage as of today with the ol' Irish Army now in Number One.

But who's this at Number Three? The new Belfast Brigade led by MUFC92. This invite-only MU is mostly ex-ICA and I'll be interested to see how everything turns out here.

If you want to check them out you can click this link.
Also MikeBane's Irish People's Army has been creeping on Labour's Army for the Number 5 spot. With recent membership increases (including myself) we're a force to be watched out for.

Also in the game is an MU led by former Bootcamp Commander Malbekh known as "The Malcontents". They're Div III/IV only but feature an all celebrity cast of Yddub, ibhoy, moomoo, Ethel y Malbekh.

So what does this all mean? Historically MUs influence political affiliation. Not always but generally ICA tends to support the IPP and her allies. It goes both ways, too. For example, as far back as I can remember the ILP doesn't tend to put up ICA members. And recently we've had a change in the political sphere with some parties starting to die off (like the IUP and ISP) and with new ones becoming more prominent (A Better Tomorrow, the Scotch-Irish Party). The same's going to happen to the MUs.

We're entering a new phase in Irish history. We've been having some population difficulties and some strong disagreements on how we're going to fix that. But, like that old eWorld band-o-brits Led Zeppelin once said "You're Time is Going to Come" and it is true. Eire's time is going to come and that time is now. Expect changes and expect greatness.

So, this is why I think you need to vote for Ronisu. In these times of political instability it's this time you need to vote for stability, transparency and communication. But no matter who you vote for make sure you get out and vote.

Sincerely,

Gerald "Greg" Smyth
